  • Publication number: 20080275258
Abstract: It is intended to provide a lipase activity inhibitor which shows a high inhibitory activity on pancreatic lipase, regulates the absorption of fat from meals and/or contributes to the regulation or prevention of obesity, a food and a drink containing the same, and a tea-origin lipase inhibitor being highly preferable and not worsening taste. It is also intended to provide a method of producing the lipase inhibitor. It is further intended to provide antioxidative agent. To overcome these problems, an epigallocatechin dimer (oolong homo bis flavans) or trimer is added to foods or drinks. Thus, the absorption of fat from meals can be regulated and an antioxidative effect can be obtained. The above compounds can be produced by reacting epigallocatechin gallate with formaldehyde in the presence of an acid.

  • Publication number: 20070254268
Abstract: A basic control process is performed on a mobile phone. From the basic control process, various processes are branched and performed, such as a normal standby process, unread mail reading standby process, and Braille pattern data generation process. In each of the processes, each of the Braille pins of a Braille display device provided for the mobile phone is raised, as occasion demands, by drive-control performed by a Braille driving device, and for example, the content of an unread mail, the content of a creating email, and a phone number in a phone call or the like on the mobile phone are displayed as a Braille pattern. The raising direction of the Braille pins is set on the rear surface different from the operation surface of the mobile phone. Thus, while holding the mobile phone in one hand, a user can perform the operation related to the phone call or email and can quickly and accurately perceive or sense various text information displayed in Braille.

  • Publication number: 20060012556
Abstract: A display device which has a liquid crystal display which has a plurality liquid crystal pixels arranged in a matrix and which writes an image thereon after resetting the liquid crystal. The method of writing on the liquid crystal display can be selected from driving methods according to interlace scanning in which a frame is divided into a plurality of fields and writing by interlace scanning is performed and driving methods according to sequential scanning in which scanning lines are subjected to writing serially. When high-speed writing is required, for example, when display of a motion picture, display of inputted letters or scroll display is desired, one of the driving methods according to interlace scanning is selected. In interlace scanning, based on the end of a blackout state of a scanning line in a field, selection of a scanning line in the next field for writing is started.

  • Publication number: 20020008820
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus which has a liquid crystal display and a controller. The liquid crystal display has a plurality of rectangular pixels arranged in a matrix, a plurality of scanning electrodes extending in the direction parallel to the longer sides of the rectangular pixels, a plurality of signal electrodes extending in the direction orthogonal to the longer sides of the rectangular pixels. The controller is to drive the scanning electrodes and the signal electrodes. An image is written on the liquid crystal display by using a driving pulse for carrying out writing after resetting the liquid crystal and by carrying out interlace scanning with one frame divided into a plurality of fields. The pixel pitch in the vertical direction is 1/n (for example, 1/1.5) of the pixel pitch in the horizontal direction. If the pixel pitch in the vertical direction is 1/1.

  • Patent number: 6339510
Abstract: A camera in which the ratio of an object to the photographing frame can be set comprises a varifocal lens in which the in-focus position is changed in accordance with the change in the focal lens and a focusing lens for correcting the focus by the varifocal lens. The size of the object is set to the desired size by using the varifocal lens, and thereafter the deviation of the in-focus point is controlled by the focusing lens. Since the zooming is carried out by using a varifocal lens, a camera can be provided in which the ratio of an object to the photographing frame can be set in a simple structure.
