  • Publication number: 20040109490
Abstract: A temperature determining device is composed of a temperature detecting unit that detects a temperature of a determination object member based on an intensity of infrared rays from the object member, a unit for determining a temperature for correction that determines a temperature of an opposing member opposed to the object member or a temperature of a member whose temperature changes in correlation to a change in the temperature of the opposing member, and a calculating unit that corrects the detected temperature obtained by the temperature detecting unit using the temperature as the temperature for correction obtained by the unit for determining a temperature for correction. Thus, stable temperature determination can be performed accurately without being influenced by infrared rays from around a determination object member.

  • Publication number: 20040105708
Abstract: A heating roller (21) includes a heat generating layer (22) that generates heat by electromagnetic induction, a heat insulating layer (23), and a supporting layer (24), which are provided inwardly in this order. The heat generating layer (22) is composed of at least two layers that are a first heat generating layer of a magnetic material and a second heat generating layer of a non-magnetic material. The first heat generating layer has a specific resistance higher than a specific resistance of the second heat generating layer and a thickness larger than a thickness of the second heat generating layer. This allows the second heat generating layer to function effectively as a heat generating part that generates heat by electromagnetic induction. Thus, compared with the case where the heat generating layer (22) is formed only of a single layer of a magnetic material, heat generation efficiency is increased, thereby allowing warm-up time to be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040099650
Abstract: A heating roller (21) includes a heat generating layer (22) that generates heat by electromagnetic induction, a heat insulating layer (23), and a supporting layer (24), which are provided inwardly in this order. The supporting layer (24) is formed of a material having a specific resistance of 1 ×10−5 &OHgr;m or higher. Therefore, even when the heat generating layer (22) has a thickness smaller than a skin depth, i.e. a thickness defined by a flow of an induction current, so that magnetic flux penetrates the heat generating layer (22) and even reaches the supporting layer (24), heat generation of the supporting layer (24) under an eddy current can be suppressed. Thus, the heat generating layer (22) can be decreased in thermal capacity, and heat generation of the supporting layer (24) is suppressed, so that only the heat generating layer (22) can be heated efficiently. As a result, a warm-up time can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20030115208
Abstract: If a document is to be referred to in this access right management system of the present invention, a name of the document desired to be referred and a personal information number of a person who refers to the document, are transmitted from a document reference apparatus to a document reference section. The document reference section acquires document data from a document storage section based on the transmitted document name, and transmits the personal information number to a reference section. The reference section acquires personal information from a personal information storage section based on the personal information number, and transmits the result to the document reference section. The document reference section passes the personal information and the document data to a condition determination section, and the condition determination section determines whether or not an access is acceptable.

  • Patent number: 5398086
Abstract: The projection type display device includes a light source tube having electron beam generation means and a light-emitting portion consisting of a fluorescent layer emitting light by means of electron beam excitation, a light valve for forming an optical image corresponding to a picture signal, and an optical system for projecting upon a screen the optical image of the light valve by means of the light irradiated from the light source tube. The convex lens is disposed between the light valve and the light-emitting portion, such that the diffusing light emitted from the light emitting portion is condensed toward the light valve. As a result, the diffusing light from the light-emitting portion having a smaller area than the area of the light valve is supplied to the light valve in a substantially parallel beam. Further, the reflection layer for reflecting and condensing the diffusing light emitted from the light-emitting portion toward the light valve may be provided.

  • Patent number: 5264941
Abstract: A large-size screen display apparatus, having a plurality of projection display devices arrayed in a matrix arrangement to form one large screen, is for displaying characters and the like. A screen of each projection display device consists of a transparent plate disposed on the light entrance side and a diffusing surface disposed on the viewing side. Further, and the periphery of the transparent plate is mounted to a housing of the display apparatus. Light rays emanated from a projection lens are reflected by the transparent plate, whereby an optical image is formed on the entire diffusing screen. Since the optical image is displayed on the entire surface of the diffusing screen, no non-display areas will appear on the screen even when the plurality of projection display device are arranged in the matrix array.
