  • Patent number: 5780104
Abstract: A method for the homopolymerization or copolymerization of vinyl chloride, wherein the inner wall of the polymerizer and the like are prevented from being fouled with the resulting polymer by applying a coating fluid containing the oxidative polymerization product of a specific phenolic monomer to the surface of the inner wall of the polymerizer and the like, as well as an anti-fouling agent used for this purpose. The method of this invention can very effectively prevent the polymerizer and the like from being fouled with the resulting polymer without affecting the polymerization rate and various properties of the product. Consequently, the necessity of performing the operation for removal of the deposited polymer after completion of each polymerization cycle is eliminated, thus making it possible to achieve closed polymerization requiring no manhole opening after each polymerization cycle which is becoming increasingly popular in recent years.

  • Patent number: 5508619
Abstract: There is disclosed a surge discriminating and locating system having at least one master station and at least one slave station. The system comprises surge receiving means for receiving surges which occur on a power transmission line, locating means for locating a point where the surge occurs, digitizing means for digitizing said surge into a digital signal, extraction means for extracting from said digital signal the characterized portions thereof as information representative of the surge waveform, memory means for storing predetermined reference information concerning the nature of surges, and discriminating means for comparing said information representative of the surge wave form with said reference information stored in said memory means to discriminate the kind of surge.

  • Patent number: 4683003
Abstract: A process for producing cellular concrete articles in the so-called pre-foam fashion, comprises molding a mixture (D) of a cement compound slurry (A) comprising calcium silicate and a rapid-hardening cement compound slurry (B) comprising calcium aluminate and an aqueous foamed liquid (C), and subjecting the molded article to hydrothermal curing, both the slurries (A) and (B) containing specified certain cement-setting retarders, respectively. By the synergistic effect of these two different retarders, an exotherm dwell period is provided in the initial setting stage of the foamed mixture (D).

  • Patent number: 4655979
Abstract: A novel process is provided for producing prefoam type cellular concrete articles, which uses a foamed slurry (E) consisting essentially of an aqueous slurry (A) of a calcium silicate-based cement compound, an aqueous slurry (B) of a calcium aluminate-based cement compound, a specific setting retarder (C), and an aqueous foamed liquid (D). The process is further characterized in that: (i) the foamed slurry (E) is cast and provided with hardened strength sufficient for demolding in 20 to 120 minutes after it has been poured into a mold; (ii) the demolded article is subjected to precuring under specific conditions of humidity, temperature and precuring time; and (iii) the molded article is then subjected to hydrothermal curing under high pressure.
