  • Patent number: 7099874
Abstract: An inquiry respondinq apparatus receives an inquiry and stores a response to the inquiry in a first database. The apparatus determines whether or not the first database can be searched for the response to the inquiry, and when it is determined that the first database can be searched for the response to the inquiry, and when it is determined that the first database can be searched, a search for the response is performed. However, when it is determined that the first database cannot be searched, the apparatus transmits the inquiry to an external information processing device, and the apparatus receives a response to the inquiry which is transmitted from the external information processing device. Then, one of the response obtained by searching the first database and the response received from the external device is displayed on a display.

  • Patent number: 4781834
Abstract: A membrane separation apparatus of hollow fiber type which comprises a hollow fiber package body in a cylindrical shape comprising a core pipe or tube available as a passage for a fluid and a hollow fiber layer surrounding said core pipe or tube, said hollow fiber layer being formed by arranging hollow fibers having a selective permeability around and on the outer surface of said core pipe or tube, characterized in that (1) at least two perforated holes are provided on the wall of said core pipe or tube at the position near either one of the entrance or exit of said passage so as to flow the fluid into the hollow fiber layer therethrough and (2) the outer surface of the hollow fiber package body is covered by a film non-permeable to the fluid but leaving uncovered the edge portion of the outer surface opposite to the edge portion where said hole is present on the wall of said core pipe or tube.

  • Patent number: 4336138
Abstract: A permeation separation apparatus furnished with an assembly consisting essentially of a multiplicity of continuously hollow fibers which have a selective permeability to fluid, said hollow fibers being arranged on the surface of a core so as to constitute multiple layers of the hollow fiber lines wherein the hollow fiber lines are disposed in mutually and up- and downwardly intersecting relations and are crossed two or more layers, said each layer having a thickness equal to the diameter of a piece of hollow fiber, with a resin wall or resin walls provided at one terminal or at both terminals of said hollow fiber layers, each of said hollow fiber lines thrusting through at least one of said resin walls in a fluid-sealing condition to provide an opening outward, and said hollow fiber being disposed so as to satisfy the formula:.pi.D/10L.ltoreq.tan B.ltoreq.3.pi.
