  • Patent number: 5846098
Abstract: The disclosed capacitor connecting structure can connect two wires to a capacitor simply, while reducing the numbers of parts and connecting steps required. The capacitor connecting structure comprises: a capacitor (27; 85; 141) having two electrodes on both sides thereof; two junction terminals (41; 95, 91; 149) each formed with a pressure-connecting terminal portion (31; 107; 151) pressure-connected to a wire, and an elastic terminal portion (37; 97; 153) electrically connected to an electrode of the capacitor; and an insulating material cover (29; 87; 143) for covering the capacitor and the two junction terminals, respectively. The two electrodes of the capacitor can be connected electrically to the two wires via the two junction terminals, respectively, by pressure-connecting the wire to the pressure-connecting terminal portion of the junction terminal, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5654623
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to enable electronic apparatuses to display the remaining power of exchangeable batteries at any given time. A battery pack having a battery and an ID generator is attached to an electronic apparatus. The accumulated consumption hours of the battery is stored in a battery information memory for each battery ID. A remaining power detector determines the remaining battery power on the basis of the accumulated consumption hours and displays it on a display unit. Because the remaining battery power is determined based on the consumption hours of a battery, the running hours of a battery can be displayed at any given time.

  • Patent number: 5649859
Abstract: A circumference wall is provided on a slant surface of a case. A cylindrical portion with a through hole for communicating the inside of the case to the outside is protruded inside the circumference wall. A shaft loosely fitted into the through hole is vertically provided from a reversely recessed cap. A falling out preventing portion for preventing the shaft from falling out the through hole is formed at the lower end of the shaft while a gap to the rear surface of the upper plate is secured. A communicating hole communicating with the gap between the shaft and the through hole when the falling out preventing portion is closely brought into contact with the rear surface of the upper plate, is provided on the falling out preventing portion. An outer circumference wall covered on the outside of the circumference wall and disposed to form a gap to the slant surface is vertically provided on the cap.

  • Patent number: 4691260
Abstract: A magnetic head assembly comprises a recording-reproducing head and erasing heads placed at both sides of said recording-reproducing head and the magnetic field strength of the erasing gap of one of the erasing heads which move adjacent data produced by a recording-reproducing gap is made different from that of the erasing gap of the other erasing gap to control a data area to be erased.

  • Patent number: 4268482
Abstract: A plurality of catalyst assemblies each have a plurality of sheet catalysts which are arranged in parallel to each other with distances thereby to define a plurality of gas passages. The catalyst assemblies are stacked in a catalytic reactor so that the width direction of the sheet catalysts of one of the catalyst assemblies will traverse the width direction of the sheet catalysts of each of the immediately adjacent assemblies, whereby leading edges of the sheet catalysts of each assembly are exposed to a gas to be treated rising upward in the gas passages.

  • Patent number: 4176020
Abstract: A novel process for the preparation of an N,N'-disubstituted tetrahydro-4,4'-bipyridyl by electrolytic dimerization of the corresponding N-substituted pyridinium salt, characterized in that, using a system including an electrolytic cell having at least one diaphragm and an extractor disposed outside the electrolytic cell, the electrolytic dimerization is carried out while an aqueous catholyte containing the corresponding N-substituted pyridinium salt is circulated between the electrolytic cell and the extractor in which the product is extracted into an extraction solvent, followed by separation of the aqueous phase which alone is recycled into the electrolytic cell. According to the process of the present invention, the electrolytic dimerization can be continued stably for a long time, a high current efficiency can be attained and the desired product can be obtained in high yield.

  • Patent number: 4151165
Abstract: A novel process for the preparation of an N,N'-disubstitued-4,4'-bipyridylium salt, characterized in that an N,N'-disubstitued tetrahydro-4,4'-bipyridyl corresponding to the desired salt is treated with at least one aromatic nitro compound in the presence of water. The process of the present invention is more advantageously effected further in the presence of a water-immiscible organic solvent. According to the present invention, the desired product can be obtained with high purity and in high yield.
