Abstract: This invention relates to benzomorpholine derivatives typified by a compound represented by general formula (VIII) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and platelet aggregation inhibitors comprising the same. The compounds of the present invention have a strong inhibitory effect of platelet aggregation, so that they are effective for treating and preventing diseases in which thrombus is involved.

Abstract: There are provided compounds represented by the general formula (I): [wherein Ar is indole etc., R1 is hydrogen etc., B is bond, or B—N—R1 forms a ring structure and is piperidine etc., n is 0, 1, etc., A is trimethylene, butylene, etc., Q is piperidine, isoindoline, etc.], or pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, and &agr;1B adrenoceptor antagonists composed of these substances. The invented compounds are antagonists having high affinity for &agr;1B adrenoceptor and are useful as pharmaceutical agents for use in prophylaxis/therapy of diseases (e.g., hypertension) in which &agr;1B adrenoceptor is involved or as pharmacological tools for elucidation of physiological activities mediated by &agr;1B adrenoceptor.

The agent for modulating growth or generation of hair according to the present invention comprises a prostaglandin EP4 receptor ligand as an active ingredient.

Abstract: An ophthalmic preparation which exhibits excellent pharmacological effects for various ophthalmic diseases is disclosed. The ophthalmic preparation according to the present invention contains a 4,8-inter-m-phenylene prostaglandin I2 derivative represented by the formula (I): or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an effective ingredient.

Abstract: This invention relates to an agent for decreasing ocular tension comprising as an effective ingredient a 4,8-inter-m-phenylene PGI.sub.2 derivative represented by the formula: ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The agent for decreasing ocular tension according to the present invention is useful as a therapeutic agent for treating various high ocular tension states such as glaucoma, ocular hypertension and high ocular tension which occurs after surgery.

Abstract: A composition for stimulating hair growth is described. The composition comprises as an effective ingredient a 5,6,7-trinor-4,8-inter-m-phenylene prostaglandin I.sub.2 derivative of the formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
