  • Patent number: 9448337
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rod lens array, which has a deep depth of focus and a small depth of focus spot. The present invention provides a rod lens array that is equipped with at least one line of rod lenses between two substrates, said line of rod lenses having a plurality of columnar rod lenses wherein the refractive index decreases toward the outer periphery from the center, said rod lenses being arranged in such a manner that the center axes of the rod lenses are substantially parallel to each other. The rod lens array is characterized in that the average value (DOFave) of the depth of focus (DOF) is at least 0.9 mm, and the depth of focus spot (DOFcv) in the scanning direction of the line of rod lenses is not more than 12%.

  • Patent number: 8676005
Abstract: A light guide for a light source device includes a core layer which is formed from a transparent resin and has a refractive index n1 and cladding layers which are provided on both surfaces thereof and have a refractive index n2 which is lower than the refractive index n1 of the core layer. A light reflecting layer which scatters and reflects light is provided in the front surface of one cladding layer, the front surface of the other cladding layer is set as a light emitting face, and a recess is provided which reaches from at least one of either of the front surface of the one cladding layer or the front surface of the other cladding layer to the core layer passing through the cladding layer.

  • Patent number: 4450551
Abstract: A keel-tipped stylus has a constricted terminal portion which is mounted on narrow shoulders which is in turn mounted on wide shoulders. The keel-tipped stylus is formed from a V-shaped stylus which engages into a spiral groove formed in an abrasive lapping disc. As the lapping disc rotates, the V-shaped stylus runs along the groove to lap the constricted terminal portion together with the narrow and wide shoulders.
