  • Publication number: 20020126999
Abstract: In a video/audio information recording/playback apparatus and method for recording programs in a recording medium in accordance with reservation information, and reproducing the recorded programs, attribute information for grouping a plurality of programs recorded according to reservation information is added to each of the programs recorded according to the reservation information. In addition, the number of programs constituting a unit of processing is set, and information representing the above-mentioned number of programs is recorded together with the program recorded according to the reservation information. A new program is recorded, while preserving the previously recorded program or programs, until the number of recorded programs belonging to the same group reaches the above-mentioned number of programs constituting the unit of processing. After that, a new program is recorded in replacement of an old program of the same group.

  • Patent number: 5648825
Abstract: In a color image display system formed of a monochromatic CRT or like image display device (102) having a screen (103) for display of images and a rotary filter (106) comprising color filter sections (106R, 106G and 106B) of a plurality of colors; image signals are read from memories (130R, 130G, 130B) at a rate higher than they are written in the memories, so as to reduce flickers. The problem of passing of the reading address over the writing address is solved by reading the image signal of prominent color taking a period in which the passing over occurs. High frequency components of other color image signals are extracted and added to the image signal of each color to thereby enhance the definition of the picture.

  • Patent number: 5574516
Abstract: A color image display system includes a monochromatic CRT or similar image display device which includes a screen for display of images and a rotary filter having filter sections of a plurality of colors. The system further includes memories for storing color image signals corresponding to each of the colors. A control circuit reads the color image signals from the memories at a higher rate than the color image signals are written into the memories to reduce image flickering. The reading operation, however, passes over the writing operation. Discontinuities caused by this passing over are reduced by reading a color image signal corresponding to a less prominent color during the passing over. Discontinuities are avoided by providing an additional memory in the system and alternately reading and writing between one of the first set of memories and the additional memory.

  • Patent number: 5543854
Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus, video signal recording/reproduction apparatus, and method therefor, perform arithmetic operations upon an input video signal and the input signal delayed by a predetermined amount of time. A memory stores the input signal for the predetermined amount of time in order to produce the delayed input video signal. A controller controls the memory to store the input video signal for the predetermined amount of time based on a main synchronization signal. A first synchronization signal is produced by separating a synchronizing signal from the input video signal. A second synchronization signal is generated based on the first synchronization signal. During operation, a switching unit supplies the first synchronization signal to the controller as the main synchronization signal until the second synchronization signal becomes synchronized with the first synchronization signal.

  • Patent number: 5486955
Abstract: An improved helical scan type video taperecorder for reproducing a high quality video signal with no distortions, and thereby eliminating a sag distortion is provided by applying a continuous reproduced video signal prepared by inserting FM signals reproduced by a pair of rotary heads into no-signal field intervals of a FM signal reproduced by a single rotary head, only the FM signal from which is used for displaying, to a clamp circuit.

  • Patent number: 5179477
Abstract: An improved helical scan type video tape recorder for reproducing a high quality video signal with no distortions, thereby a sag distortion is eliminated by applying a continuous reproduced video signal prepared by inserting FM signals reproduced by a pair of rotary heads into no-signal field intervals of a FM signal reproduced by a single rotary head, only the FM signal from which is used for displaying, to a clamp circuit, a skew distortion is eliminated by providing one horizontal scanning period of 1H between the last horizontal pulse in a signal field interval and the first horizontal pulse in a no-signal field interval of a reproduced video signal regardless of a type of scanning such as an interlace scanning for causing no disturbance in horizontal synchronization, and a phase distortion is eliminated by combining a pseudo-vertical synchronizing signal, which has a specific phase relationship with a video tape phase standard signal at any traveling speed of the video tape, with a reproduced video signa

  • Patent number: 4970611
Abstract: A head-carrier drum control apparatus in a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus which comprises a rotatably supported head-carrier drum assembly; a drive unit accommodated in the head-carrier drum assembly including a coil, disposed in a magnetic circuit, and at least one positionable magnetic transducing head cooperable with the coil to be displaced in a direction generally widthwise of a length of magnetic tape. The apparatus further includes a contact feeler through which a control current is supplied to the drive unit; an electrode held in contact with the contact feeler and connected electrically with the coil; and a drive circuit for controlling the position of the transducer head so as to cause a trace of movement of the transducing head depicted during information reproduction to properly follow a track recorded by a magnetic transducing head on the length of magnetic tape during information recording.
