  • Publication number: 20130314748
Abstract: In a communication system, an image forming apparatus sends an address of a receiving section to a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal receives a selection of an image data among plural thumbnails displayed on a display section, and wirelessly sends the selected image data to the image forming apparatus with the address. The image forming apparatus receives the selected image data sent with the address by the mobile terminal, and prints an image based on the selected image data. A communication between the mobile terminal and the image forming apparatus is performed wirelessly with an IEEE 802.11 standard. The image forming apparatus deletes the address of the mobile terminal when the communication with the mobile terminal through the receiving section is finished.

  • Publication number: 20100231958
Abstract: A digital multi-function peripheral constantly transmits a signal for starting. When a mobile phone is located within a predetermined distance from the digital multi-function peripheral and receives the signal for starting, the mobile phone then transmits a reply signal to the digital multi-function peripheral. Then, the digital multi-function peripheral connects with the mobile phone by transmitting its identification data to the mobile phone. Further, the digital multi-function peripheral causes, by transmitting data for instructing execution of an application program associated with transmission and reception by the mobile phone to the mobile phone, the mobile phone to execute the application program.

  • Publication number: 20100225962
Abstract: After a digital multi-function peripheral establishes a connection with a mobile phone once, it rejects connection establishment requests made to a wireless communication section by other devices. Moreover, after a connection is established with a mobile phone once, the digital multi-function peripheral stops sending of the address of the wireless communication section through a reader/writer. After completing the sending/receiving of data, the digital multi-function peripheral and the mobile phone delete the addresses of their partner devices stored in them, respectively, for use in sending/receiving data.

  • Patent number: 7376966
Abstract: An unauthorized usage monitoring system for image processing devices of the present invention sets a higher information storage ratio for a smaller number of people present in an office when determining, based on an information storage ratio, whether or not to store to a storage portion 15 information in which a user ID code and image data are associated. The information ratio is compared with a random number, and information in which the image data and the ID code of the user who requested image processing are associated is stored to the storage portion 15 only when the information storage ratio is higher than the random number.

  • Patent number: 7263724
Abstract: When a digital copier is used, for monochrome images, image data is stored into a storage in association with user ID codes at a 5% possibility while for color images, image data is stored in association with user ID codes at possibilities ranging from 0 to 50% depending upon the users. For storing image data the data is reduced then the reduced data is stored. This makes it possible to reduce the amount of data to be stored and hence enables use of a reduced capacity of storage, which makes easier the management for reading the content in the storage and discerning unfair usage of the digital copier.

  • Patent number: 6788427
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a print data controlling method for correctly performing, even when a print request regarding the same or similar print data is repeatedly issued, a print procedure desired by a user without decrease in printer operating efficiency and waste of resources such as paper. As a decision result produced by a print server on the basis of a comparison of data specifying information contained in print requesting data with data specifying information attached to each print data spooled in a print queue, a terminal device receives decision data which informs that there has already been spooled print data identical with or similar to print data regarding a current print request. Then, the terminal device will accept designation input for designating a print data processing procedure, thereafter sending to the print server processing data representative of contents of the designated print data processing procedure.

  • Patent number: 6401116
Abstract: A remote trouble management system of the present invention is furnished with a plurality of devices connected to an intranet; and a plurality of management servers for managing the plurality of devices individually through the intranet or an internet connected the intranet, wherein each of the plurality of devices includes a trouble information notifying device for, when a trouble occurs therein, notifying the trouble to the plurality of management servers by sending trouble information through a request/response type protocol, in which a request receiver returns a response, upon receipt of a request, to a request sender. Accordingly, the information of the trouble occurring in the device can be sent to the management server in a reliable manner. On the other hand, information corresponding to the trouble information can be returned from the management server having received the trouble information in a reliable manner. Consequently, a trouble occurring in the device can be removed immediately and correctly.
