  • Patent number: 8467020
Abstract: The present invention provides a color filter substrate and a liquid crystal display device which enable easy color design for a liquid crystal display panel, can suppress both a switching domain and disclination, and can also suppress a decrease in the aperture ratio. The color filter substrate of the present invention has a structure in which adjacent color filters have respective projections that project toward each other and are in contact with each other on a light-shielding member; a structure in which color filter regions for same-color dots adjacent to each other are partially connected on the shielding member; or a structure in which the above structures are combined.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 8139192
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is provided with high fabrication efficiency, which produces small display unevenness and which is capable of high quality display with excellent viewing angle characteristics and high transmittance. A liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes: a first substrate which includes pixel electrodes and an alignment film; a second substrate which includes a common electrode; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Each of the pixel electrodes includes a plurality of subpixel electrodes electrically separated from one another on an insulating layer. The subpixel electrodes have a recess recessed toward the insulating layer. The subpixel electrodes and a drain line are connected at the recess. Part of the common electrode lying above a whole area of the pixel electrodes is substantially flat.

  • Patent number: 6723199
Abstract: A lamination method, which is a method in which a dry resist film, formed by providing a color resist layer on a base film, is cut based upon the length of a substrate in the feeding direction, and press-bonded onto the substrate, and then the color resist layer is transferred onto the substrate by separating the base film, is provided with the following steps: in the cutting process, cutting the film so that the rear end of the dry resist film, after the press-bonding, extrudes from the rear end of the substrate by a predetermined width; and cutting the dry resist film again at a position inside the rear end of the substrate prior to separating the base film after the dry resist film has been press-bonded so as to eliminate the portion of the dry resist film extruding from the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6348958
Abstract: A color filter frame, which covers a non-display surface of an optical display section, is provided with frame color filter picture elements using at least two of three colors used for color filter picture elements, which correspond to displaying pixels. An area ratio of the frame color filter picture elements corresponding to different colors is set so as to be different from that of the color filter picture elements, which correspond to the colors used in the frame color filter picture elements. With this arrangement, it is possible to omit the step of manufacturing a black mask so as to reduce the cost; consequently, a color filter for an optical display device can be provided with an excellent appearance on a display.
