    Abstract: A lighting apparatus such as for a display apparatus equipped for an instrument panel of an automobile, for example, comprises a light source, such as a light-emitting diode, having polarities of substantially a tubular structure having a center axis, a circuit board arranged substantially on the center axis of the light source and electrically connected thereto, a socket body having substantially a cylindrical structure for accommodating the circuit board, and contact terminals accommodated in the socket body and including an inner terminal portion electrically connected to the circuit board through a contact point of the circuit board and an outer terminal portion electrically connected to the inner terminal portion and fixed to the socket body so as to protrude outward the socket body. The circuit board is provided with a flicker element for flickering the light source at 0.5 to 10 Hz controlled by a control unit provided for a printed circuit board of the display apparatus.

    Abstract: A lamp device is constituted by an assembly consisting of a holder and a lamp and can be detachably attached to an installation hole of a print board or the like. The lamp device internally includes a flickering circuit for flickering the lamp. The holder comprises first, second, and third contact members for electrically connecting a power supply terminal of the print board with the lamp, and a flickering circuit element is contained in the holder. The first contact member has contacts with the power supply terminal and with a lead of the lamp. The second contact member has contacts with another lead of the lamp and with a terminal of the flickering circuit element. The third contact member has contacts with another terminal of the flickering circuit element and the power supply terminal.

Thus, the location of the bulb can be adjusted to a desirable position by the rotation of the bulb when the lamp device is attached to an external supporting device.

    Abstract: A socket has a bulb insertion cavity into which a sealed section of a baseless lamp is inserted. The socket is mounted to a mounting base by being inserted through an insertion hole thereof and then turned in a predetermined direction. The socket has a pair of contact members disposed in the insertion cavity. Each contact member has a power supply terminal, and a contact protuberance is formed on the free end of the terminal. The protuberance has a flat top surface being in contact with a printed wiring on the mounting base, a first inclined side surface extending from the top surface toward the base end of the terminal, a second inclined side surface extending from the top surface in the turning direction of the socket, and third and fourth inclined side surfaces opposite to the first and second surfaces, respectively. The first and second surfaces are inclined more gently than the third and fourth surfaces.
