  • Patent number: 7363803
Abstract: In a failure diagnostic system for a fuel vapor processing apparatus, a processing flow path comprising a vapor line, a canister and a purge line is closed with a vapor control valve and a purge control valve. The interior of the processing flow path is reduced in pressure or pressurized by rotating an air pump of a pump module in a forward or reverse direction. An electronic control unit (ECU) closes the vapor control valve and the purge control valve to close the processing flow path after stop of the engine and, when the fuel temperature detected by a temperature sensor is lower than a predetermined value, reduces the internal pressure of the processing flow path through an air pump, then checks air-tightness of the interior of the processing flow path based on behavior of a vapor pressure detected by a pressure sensor.

  • Patent number: 6568356
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to promote warming-up operation in a cooling water flow control system of an internal combustion engine. A flow control valve is provided at a junction of a radiator passage and a bypass passage. Radiator flow rate and bypass flow rate of the flow control vale are controlled by detecting engine outlet water temperature, radiator outlet water temperature, number of revolutions of engine, and suction pipe negative pressure. The cooling water in the bypass passage passes through a throttle body, and flow rate is controlled to a totally closed flow rate or a micro-flow rate in the warming-up operation, and this contributes to the promotion of the warming-up operation.

  • Patent number: 5887109
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a tuner which receives CATV signals and selects a TV signal therefrom. The selected TV signal is output via an output terminal to decoder in a cable box, for instance. An input terminal of the recording apparatus receives the decoder output. Both the selected TV signal and the input on from the input terminal are sent to a switching unit. The switching unit selects the input from the input terminal when input signals are present; otherwise the switching unit selects the select TV signal. The switching may be controlled manually or by a detection circuit. The detection circuit detects the presence of input signals at the input terminal. A recording unit records the output from the switching unit.

  • Patent number: 5648825
Abstract: In a color image display system formed of a monochromatic CRT or like image display device (102) having a screen (103) for display of images and a rotary filter (106) comprising color filter sections (106R, 106G and 106B) of a plurality of colors; image signals are read from memories (130R, 130G, 130B) at a rate higher than they are written in the memories, so as to reduce flickers. The problem of passing of the reading address over the writing address is solved by reading the image signal of prominent color taking a period in which the passing over occurs. High frequency components of other color image signals are extracted and added to the image signal of each color to thereby enhance the definition of the picture.

  • Patent number: 5596348
Abstract: An input apparatus has a selection key for inputting a signal on the basis of an operation, a timer which is reset by an input of a signal from the selection key and which measures a predetermined time period, and a controller for inputting first conditions such as a menu selection on the basis of an input of a signal from the selection key, and for inputting second conditions such as a menu decision on the basis of an output of the timer. The first conditions are input on the basis of an input of a signal from the selection key, so that an operation such as a menu selection is done. When the selection key is not operated for a time period longer than the predetermined time period set in the timer, the second conditions are input, so that an operation such as a menu decision is done.

  • Patent number: 5574516
Abstract: A color image display system includes a monochromatic CRT or similar image display device which includes a screen for display of images and a rotary filter having filter sections of a plurality of colors. The system further includes memories for storing color image signals corresponding to each of the colors. A control circuit reads the color image signals from the memories at a higher rate than the color image signals are written into the memories to reduce image flickering. The reading operation, however, passes over the writing operation. Discontinuities caused by this passing over are reduced by reading a color image signal corresponding to a less prominent color during the passing over. Discontinuities are avoided by providing an additional memory in the system and alternately reading and writing between one of the first set of memories and the additional memory.

  • Patent number: 5481507
Abstract: To produce a time-base signal for timekeeping, an oscillator circuit generates an oscillator clock signal, which is counted cyclically with a programmable cycle length to establish a time-base cycle. The time-base signal is set and reset once in each time-base cycle. The oscillator clock signal is also counted with a fixed cycle length to establish an adjustment cycle, which is longer than the time-base cycle. In each adjustment cycle, the length of one or more time-base cycles is altered by a total amount determined by adjustment data stored in a non-volatile memory, then the time-base cycle length is restored to its nominal value. The average frequency of the time-base signal can be adjusted by writing appropriate adjustment data in the non-volatile memory.
