  • Patent number: 9454033
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device sandwiching liquid crystal between a TFT substrate having a rectangular plane and an opposing substrate having a rectangular plane, wherein a long side of the TFT substrate is longer than a long side of the opposing substrate, the long side of the opposing substrate is formed with a chamfer, and a light shielding film made of metal is formed on the TFT substrate around a position corresponding to the center of the long side of the opposing substrate. By using the light shielding film, the chipping condition of the opposing substrate near the chamfer can be accurately and rapidly evaluated.

  • Publication number: 20120229748
Abstract: There is provided a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal display panel. The liquid crystal display panel includes a pair of substrates, a sealing material provided in the periphery of the pair of substrates, and a liquid crystal injected between the pair of substrates and the sealing material. A liquid crystal injection port is formed in a portion of the sealing material. A sealant is provided to seal the liquid crystal injection port. The portion of the sealant entering the liquid crystal display panel, which faces the sealing material, is fully bonded to the sealing material to prevent degradation of the adhesive strength of the sealant of the liquid crystal display panel.

  • Publication number: 20100171918
Abstract: In a miniaturized liquid crystal display device, a thickness of the liquid crystal display device is decreased and the occurrence of cracks is prevented. A portion of a TFT substrate to which a lower polarizer is adhered has a small thickness, and a periphery of the TFT substrate including a terminal portion has a large thickness. A portion of a counter substrate to which an upper polarizer is adhered has a small thickness, and a periphery of the counter substrate except for one side which forms a U shape has a large thickness. Accordingly, in adhering the upper polarizer to the counter substrate, it is possible to decrease a possibility that a foreign material is entangled. By applying chemical polishing to edge portions of the TFT substrate and edge portions of the counter substrate, the edge portions are rounded and hence, the probability of occurrence of cracks caused by an impact or the like from the outside can be decreased.

  • Patent number: 5694480
Abstract: Vortex melting furnace facilities picks up an image of molten slag flow in a direction traverse to the molten slag flow discharged from the furnace, calculates a molten slag flow rate by brilliance discrimination of the image pick-up signal and controls a water feed rate of a molten slag wet granulation and granulated slag dewatering apparatus and a flow rate of the molten slag in the vortex melting furnace. A video camera is arranged such that a direction of image pick-up traverses to a direction of the molten slag flow and the resulting image is brilliance discriminated by a high brilliance area for the molten slag and a low brilliance area for a molten slag conduit, and the high brilliance area is converted to the fusion flow rate from a liquid level of the molten slag in the fusion conduit.
