  • Patent number: 6044938
Abstract: A dual-mode drum brake assembly including a stationary backing plate opposed to a brake drum, a wheel cylinder disposed on the backing plate and having a pair of outwardly extendible pistons, an anchor fixed to the backing plate and opposite to said wheel cylinder diametrically of the backing plate, two brake shoes movably supported by the backing plate and having a first pair of adjacent ends opposite to the wheel cylinder and a second pair of adjacent ends opposite to the anchor, a parking lever disposed substantially along one of the two brake shoes and having a pivot axis perpendicular to the backing plate, at a portion thereof closer to the wheel cylinder, and a cable fixing portion closer to the anchor, and a link mechanism disposed between the parking lever and the brake shoes, and operating to move the adjacent ends of the second pair of the brake shoes away from each other, with a pivotal movement of the parking lever about the pivot axis when a torque acts on the brake drum.

  • Patent number: 5813691
Abstract: A twist beam type suspension has a twist beam having an increased rigidity. Each of a pair of trailing arms has a front end pivotally mounted on a body of the vehicle and a rear end rotatably supporting a wheel. A twist beam extends between the trailing arms in a side-to-side direction of the vehicle. Opposite ends of the twist beam are connected to the respective trailing arms. The twist beam has a bent portion projecting upwardly in the center of the twist beam.

  • Patent number: 5419740
Abstract: In a constant velocity joint on the double Cardan type including a pair of flange yokes each having an annular flange portion and a pair of arm portions and connected together at the flange portions to define a radially inwardly open annular groove therebetween; a pair of pin yoke each having a connection end portion, a spherical end portion and a pair of arm portions connecting the connection end portion and the spherical end portion; a pair of cross pieces each pivotably connecting the pair of arm portions of each one of the flange yokes and the pair of arm portions of each one of the pin yokes in a manner of universal joint; and a centering disk bearing a socket portion for receiving the spherical end portions of the pair of pin yokes and slidably received in said annular groove at an outer peripheral portion thereof, the improvement is in that the socket portion of the centering disk is eccentrically shifted from a diametrical center of the centering disk, so that the centering disk is held from random ro

  • Patent number: 4881753
Abstract: An air suspension system with an air drier that adjusts vehicle height quickly especially when lowering the height. This system also efficiently maintains the desiccating capacity of the air drier. In lowering the vehicle, all the air discharged from an air actuator is compressed by a compressor and supplied to an accumulator, thus reducing the load on the compressor. When vehicle height is not adjusted and the pressure in the accumulator exceeds a preset value, the air is released from the accumulator into the atmosphere through a throttle valve and the air drier to restore the capacity of the desiccating material in the air drier.

  • Patent number: 4347803
Abstract: A display device for displaying an indication of a quantity, such as the shift range to which an automatic transmission is set, having an indicator member mounted so as to rotate within a first range of rotational movement around a first axis, and a drive member which is rotated around a second axis, different from the first axis, within a second range of rotational movement through an angle corresponding to the quantity to be indicated. The drive member is engaged with the indicator member so as to drive the indicator member, with a point of engagement between the drive member and the indicator member describing a locus, as the drive member and the indicator member move through their ranges of rotation, the perpendicular distance from any point on which to the first axis is shorter than the perpendicular distance from the point to the second axis.
