  • Patent number: 4979059
Abstract: In a data memorizing device in which a magnetic head is supported on a recording surface of a disk-like recording medium carrier rotatably driven, an actuator carrying the magnetic head is moved to bring the magnetic head to a predetermined position on the magnetic recording medium carrier, an error detection circuit compares a position-determining time required in the movement of the magnetic head from starting the movement of the head to the completion of the movement with a reference time previously determined by an instruction from a computer, and outputs a positioning-error signal in accordance with the determination of error in positioning the magnetic head when the value of the position-determining signal is greater than the value of a reference time.

  • Patent number: 4954908
Abstract: A storage apparatus wherein a servo mechanism of a heed for record and regeneration is provided with a gain-variable amplifier, a gain controller for varying the gain of the gain-variable amplifier, and a comparator for comparing an output of a position sensor and a reference voltage, and which detects a gain margin of the servo mechanism according to the result of the comparison and operates so as to prevent the servo mechanism from an oscillation according to the result of the detection.

  • Patent number: 4954909
Abstract: A magnetic head is moved in the radial direction of a magnetic recording medium carrier by means of an actuator to record or reproduce data stored therein. The actuator is actuated by an instruction signal from a servo circuit through a computer. The servo circuit receives a position signal and a speed signal according to the movement and stopping of the actuator and generates digital signals having high and low level logical values as a result of a comparison of the position and speed signals with position-determining and speed-determining instruction signals from the computer. A calculator receives the digital signals and a clock signal from a clock signal generator and outputs a pulse signal to the computer when the digital signal takes the high level logical value and resets the counting operation when the digital signal takes the low level logical value.

  • Patent number: 4937687
Abstract: A memory unit adapted for use with an electronic computer or the like. In the unit, a data-clock pulse train regenerated by a head is discriminated into a data pulse train and a clock pulse train by a discrimination circuit in accordance with a phase-variable gate signal outputted from a gate circuit, and any error in each of such discriminated pulse trains is detected by a regeneration error detection circuit. Meanwhile, when a discrimination phase margin of the gate signal outputted from the gate circuit has become narrower than a predetermined value, such state is detected by a phase margin detection circuit, so that any regeneration error in the data-clock pulse train can be detected with a high precision.

  • Patent number: 4937688
Abstract: A memory unit which interposes a variable gain amplifier between a servo circuit and an actuator and is provided with means for varying the gain of the amplifier and means for detecting existence of reproduction error by an information reproducing head, so that existence of a gain margin of a servo mechanism is detected on the basis of whether or not a reproduction error exists when the gain of the amplifier is varied, thereby prechecking the existence of gain margin of the servo mechanism to adjust the gain margin, when short, by exchanging parts or reassembling them.

  • Patent number: 4811125
Abstract: A memory unit adapted for use with an electronic computer or the like. In the unit, a data-clock pulse train regenerated by a head is discriminated into a data pulse train and a clock pulse train by a first discrimination circuit in accordance with a first gate signal outputted from a first gate circuit, and any error in each of such discriminated pulse trains is detected by a first regeneration error detection circuit. Meanwhile, the data-clock pulse train is discriminated into a data pulse train and a clock pulse train by a second discrimination circuit in accordance with a second gate signal which is outputted from a second gate circuit in accordance with the regenerated data-clock pulse train and is different in waveform from the first gate signal, and any error in such discriminated pulse trains is detected by a second regeneration error detection circuit, so that any regeneration error in the data-clock pulse train can be detected with a higher precision.
