  • Patent number: 6968930
Abstract: A damper includes a cylinder, and a piston rod inserted into the cylinder through an opening portion of the cylinder. The piston rod includes front and base ends, and a frictional engaging member provided on an outer surface along a longitudinal direction thereof extending from a front end side toward the base end. A resistance device is disposed at the opening portion of the cylinder. The resistance device contacts the frictional engaging member and deforms elastically to provide frictional resistance to the piston rod as the piston rod is withdrawn from the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5603540
Abstract: A swing lid locking mechanism prevents the lid of a container from accidentally opening when shocks act on the container. The swing lid locking mechanism comprises one of a pair of support legs formed integrally with the lid body of the lid and pivotally supported by support pins on the side wall of the container body, provided with a locking projection; and an impact locking device comprising a bottomed case provided with a longitudinal slot in one side wall thereof, a locking weight provided with a groove in an upper part of the outer side surface thereof across the width and a stopping projection in a middle part of the outer side surface, and axially slidably inserted in the case so that the stopping projection is received in the longitudinal slot of the bottomed case, and a spring compressed between the lower end of the locking weight and the bottom wall of the case.

  • Patent number: 5561954
Abstract: A molding for a front glass mounted continuously, from right and left front pillar portions to a roof portion, to a gap between a peripheral portion of a front glass of a vehicle and a window frame of a body of the vehicle. The molding has a groove lip which is formed of a different material than a material of a leg portion, a head portion, a glass lip and a panel lip, and which extends over a predetermined length from a lower portion to an upper portion of the front pillar portion. The extended length of the groove lip becomes gradually shorter and disappears over a corner portion of the upper portion of the front pillar portion and the roof portion. The leg portion, the head portion, the glass lip, the panel lip and the groove lip are integrally extrusion-molded. The entire sectional configuration does not deform at a portion whose cross-section is changed, and high adhesion of the molding to the front glass can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 5555685
Abstract: A molding for mounting in a gap between an outer periphery and a window frame of an automobile is disclosed. The molding is formed of a length of material having first and second pillar sections extending into corner sections, the corner sections being interconnected via a roof section. A cross-section of the molding includes a leg portion and a head portion extending therefrom, the head portion having a parasol-shape and overhanging the leg portion. The leg portion includes upper, intermediate and lower portions, the intermediate portion being formed of a different material. A glass lip projects from a first side of the leg portion, the molding being configured to receive an outer periphery of the front glass between the glass lip and a lower surface of the head portion. Additionally, a panel lip projects from a second side of the leg portion, the panel lip being adapted to elastically abut and engage the window frame of the automobile.

  • Patent number: 5394902
Abstract: In a fuel pump inlet chamber assembly having a communication passage which allows ejection of fuel from the fuel pump inlet chamber to the remaining part of the fuel tank only at a limited flow rate so that any short-term change in the fuel level due to the motion of the fuel inside the tank may not substantially affect the availability of fuel inside the fuel pump inlet chamber, the fuel pump is conveniently interposed in the interface between these two parts, thereby not only simplifying the assembling work but also allowing easy access to the fuel pump for servicing purpose. This takes advantage of the fact that the fuel pump inlet chamber is normally made of molded plastic material, and is required to be constructed from two pieces, i.e., the main body and the lid member. Thus, the fuel pump inlet chamber assembly can be made simple in structure and easy and economical to fabricate while allowing easy access to the fuel pump.

  • Patent number: 5186200
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rotary tank system to be provided inside a fuel tank for vehicles such as automobiles which is characterized in that it basically comprises two parts that are made of a material that can be hot-welded together, and at least a portion each of the contact faces between the first and the second halves of the tank is heated to molten state and subsequently abutted against each other in order to weld the two halves into an integral member.
