  • Patent number: 4980384
Abstract: A foamed cellular body of a cured silicone rubber composition can be obtained in a continuous process by irradiating a foamable silicone rubber composition containing, in addition to conventional diorganopolysiloxane, finely divided silica filler, blowing agent and crosslinking agent, a substantial amount of a dielectric inorganic powder, which is an iron oxide or a ferrite, with UHF microwaves. When the silicone rubber composition as molded is irradiated with UHF microwaves, the energy of the microwaves absorbed by the dielectric powder is efficiently converted into heat so that the molded body can be very evenly heated to effect foaming vulcanization of the composition giving a foamed and cured silicone rubber article having an excellently fine and uniform cellular structure.

  • Patent number: 4771099
Abstract: The silicone rubber composition of the invention comprises, as the peroxide curing agent, a neopentane diol derivative represented by the general formulaR.sup.1 --O--O--CO--O--CH.sub.2 --C(CH.sub.3).sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O--CO--O--O--R.sup.2,in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each, independently from the other, a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms or a silyl group of the general formula --SiR.sup.3.sub.3, R.sup.3 being a methyl, ethyl or phenyl group, such as trimethyl silyl, in admixture with a diorganopolysiloxane and a reinforcing silica filler. By virtue of this unique formulation, the silicone rubber composition is suitable for hot-air vulcanization without compression as in the vulcanization process by extrusion molding followed by heating in a hot-air oven.

  • Patent number: 4619127
Abstract: An electromagnetic forming method is disclosed which effects desired forming on a given workpiece by disposing on the surface of the workpiece a driver obtained by superposing a highly electroconductive metal foil repeatedly over itself, opposing a primary coil to the driver, feeding electric current for forming to the primary coil thereby generating induced current in the driver, and allowing the workpiece to be formed by the resultant repulsive force exerted between the driver and the primary coil.
