  • Publication number: 20060142065
Abstract: A switching station etc., are provided. When a mobile station moves from an area of a switching station into an area of another switching station having a VLR which has accepted the maximum number of subscribers, the switching station registers subscriber location information about the mobile station in an HLR even through it cannot register the subscriber service information in its VLR. When a call origination signal is transmitted from the mobile station, the switching station performs call origination connection processing by acquiring the subscriber service information about the mobile station from the HLR. When call termination to the mobile station occurs, the switching station can perform call termination processing normally since the subscriber location information is correctly updated in the HLR. The switching station performs call termination processing by acquiring the subscriber service information from the HLR.

  • Patent number: 4435767
Abstract: An electronic cash register electrically communicates with an electronic weighing scale. An interface circuit is included in the electronic cash register for introducing weight information data from the electronic weighing scale into the electronic cash register. An abnormal condition detection system is included in the electronic cash register for detecting an abnormal condition occurring within the electronic weighing scale. The electronic cash register includes a synthetic speech sound generation system for audibly informing an operator of the abnormal condition detected by the abnormal condition detection system.

  • Patent number: 4430713
Abstract: An electronic cash register includes a PLU (Price-look-up) function, wherein merchandise information such as a unit cost, taxation information and classification information is preset for each commodity by an operator. For presetting the PLU code information, a "PLU" key is actuated for automatically developing a PLU code signal in a progressive order. A synthetic speech sound generation system is provided for first generating a synthetic speech respresentation of "PLU number one". Then, the synthetic speech sound generation system provides a synthetic speech representation of "unit cost" for audibly instructing an operator to introduce the unit cost information. Thereafter, synthetic speech representation of "taxation" and "classification" are provided to audibly instruct the operator of a required key operation, thereby facilitating the preset operation of the PLU code information.

  • Patent number: 4369334
Abstract: An electronic cash register includes a synthetic speech sound generation system for providing an audible announcement of the total amount of the transaction when the transaction assigned to a specific customer is completed. When a clerk introduces money information concerning the amount handed from the customer, the audible announcement is generated from the synthetic speech sound generation system for announcing the money received from the customer. The electronic cash register calculates the change which should be handed to the customer, and the change is also audibly announced. Moreover, the synthetic speech sound generation system provides an audible announcement of "Thank you for your patronage." when the transaction for the specific customer is completed.

  • Patent number: 4348551
Abstract: An electronic cash register includes a synthetic speech sound generation system for providing an audible announcement related to a bargain article of the present day and a next service day. The synthetic speech sound generation system is activated when a total key is actuated to complete one set of registration of transaction data assigned to one customer. The synthetic speech sound generation system is alternatively actuated at preselected times. The next service day information is also applied to a printer system for printing out the next service day on a receipt slip. The bargain article to be announced and the date information of the next service day are preset through the use of function keys and numeral keys included in the electronic cash register.
