Abstract: An airbag apparatus to be mounted on a vehicle such as a motor vehicle includes an airbag and a gas supply device. The airbag is inflated to a rear side of a vehicle from a front side thereof in front of a vehicle passenger for protecting the passenger in case of a vehicle accident. The airbag includes a right airbag section extending vertically on a right side of the vehicle and a left airbag section extending vertically on a left side of the vehicle in the inflated state. The right or left airbag section located closer to a side portion of the vehicle has an upper edge lower than that of the left or right airbag section, so that the right or left airbag section does not interfere with the side portion.

Abstract: A horn switch gear includes a proximity sensor that is mounted on a first surface and a magnet that is mounted on a second surface, at a position facing the first surface. When a module cover is depressed, the first surface moves downward together with the module cover, thereby bringing the sensor close to the magnet. When the distance between the sensor and the magnet becomes less than a specified value, a voltage greater than a threshold is generated. In response to this above-threshold voltage, the sensor generates a horn blowing signal that sounds the horn. Another horn switch gear has a structure in which a horn is activated by depression of the module cover, which depression generates an induced current by the relative movement of a magnet and a magnetic coil.

Abstract: An airbag cover of an airbag system has a flat surface extending in such a way as to face the occupant, a rising wall rising from the back of the airbag-cover flat surface toward a mount portion on the vehicle side and fixed to the mount portion, and a tear line formed in the airbag-cover flat surface and the rising wall, wherein when the vehicle airbag inflates, the airbag cover is cleaved along the tear line in the airbag-cover flat surface and the rising wall to be divided into airbag-cover divided pieces and is opened around the hinge of the rising wall.
