  • Publication number: 20070258087
Abstract: An optical fiber temperature sensor has a sensing part composed of an optical fiber arranged at a temperature measurement point; a light source for injecting a light to the sensing part; a wavelength filter module for branching the Raman scattered light from the back scattered light generated at the sensing part; photoelectric detectors for detecting the Raman scattered light and a signal processing circuit for processing the electric signals from the photoelectric detectors, wherein the light source is a semiconductor laser having a wavelength bandwidth of 0.78 ?m; the wavelength filter module has a longer wavelength side band pass filter for transmitting the Stokes light and a shorter wavelength side band pass filter for transmitting the anti-Stokes light; and the longer wavelength side band pass filter and the shorter wavelength side band pass filter do not allow the light having the wavelength band of the semiconductor laser to be transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20070179451
Abstract: A safety needle assembly includes a needle holder assembly, a cannula fixed to the needle holder assembly, a protector positioned over the cannula and removable to expose the cannula, and a sheath. The sheath is pivotally mounted on the needle holder assembly to permit the sheath to be pivoted relative to the needle holder assembly in a direction toward the cannula from a non-covering position in which the cannula is exposed after removal of the protector to a covering position in which the cannula is covered by the sheath. The sheath can also be provided with flat surfaces adapted to successively engage a portion of the needle holder assembly as the sheath is pivoted relative to the needle holder assembly. The needle holder assembly can include a tubular syringe barrel or a tubular needle holder adapted to receive an evacuated tube.

  • Publication number: 20070145251
Abstract: An optical sensor has: a sensing portion having an optical fiber to be disposed at a measurement point of temperature, distortion, pressure etc.; a light source to output a light to the sensing portion; and a photodetector to detect a backscattered light from the sensing portion. The sensing portion has a tape sheet and the optical fiber shaped into a corrugated form with a predetermined curvature. Alternatively, the sensing portion has a polymer optical waveguide with a core shaped into a corrugated form with a predetermined curvature.

  • Patent number: 7219075
Abstract: A lens ordering system for submitting an order for a refractive lens online, using a terminal device installed at an order submission source, the lens ordering system includes: a server which displays an input screen, into which power of a lens to be ordered is entered, on a monitor of the terminal device; and a database which stores power data of the lenses available from a lens supply source. The server displays a power range table in which spherical power and astigmatism powers are arranged in columns and rows based on the power data, and automatically enters the spherical power and the astigmatism power corresponding to an intersection section at the same time by designating one of the intersection sections of the columns and rows of the power range table.

  • Publication number: 20070069971
Abstract: An antenna having an antenna element bent in a predetermined shape. The antenna element has a plurality of line conductors that are arranged in parallel and are sandwiched by two insulation films. A method of making an antenna has the steps of: arranging in parallel a plurality of line conductors, each of which having a width of 0.04 mm or less, at intervals of 10 times or more the width of each of the line conductors; discharging continuously the plurality of line conductors such that visibility of the line conductors is reduced; and sandwiching continuously the discharged line conductors by planar transparent insulation films with a sticking or adhesion layer to have an antenna element.

  • Publication number: 20070015220
Abstract: A full-length cDNA encoding a human-derived G protein-coupled receptor protein is isolated by screening a human hippocampus library. Also, a rat-derived cDNA corresponding to the human-derived cDNA is isolated. Proteins encoded by these cDNAs have an activity of lowering intracellular cAMP concentration under stimulation with histamine. These proteins are usable as tools in screening ligands thereof or in screening candidate compounds for drugs capable of regulating signal transduction from the above proteins.
