  • Patent number: 7680121
Abstract: A transmission apparatus connected to a first network obtains information on a device connected to a third network, to which a destination of communication with a communication device connected to a second network is connected, and transmits the obtained information to a device connected to the second network via the first network.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 16, 2004
Date of Patent: March 16, 2010
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha

  • Publication number: 20040228357
Abstract: A transmitter sends a first signal for designating a port number to a connection controller. The connection controller receives the first signal, and sends a second signal to a receiver, the second signal designating a port of the receiver for accepting a connection request from the transmitter. Also, the transmitter may send a third signal including the port number designated by the first signal to the receiver. The receiver receives the second and third signals and selects the port for accepting a connection request by the third signal in accordance with data included in the second signal.

  • Publication number: 20040230830
Abstract: A receiver receives first and second signals (first and second receiver signals) and permits connection with a connection request source (transmitter) on the basis of a port number included in the second signal (second receiver signal) when the first signal (first receiver signal) satisfies a predetermined condition. The port for accepting the connection request may be variable. The second signal (second receiver signal) may include data designating a program. A connection controller may receive a first signal (first controller signal) from the receiver and send a second signal (second controller signal) to a transmitter, the second signal (second controller signal) designating the port of the receiver for accepting the connection request from the transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20010056486
Abstract: There are provided a network monitoring system and a network monitoring method which are capable of obtaining results of monitoring devices on a network with accuracy. Monitor probe servers are provided in respective different layers of a network to determine operating states of devices on the network. A monitor server monitors the operating states of the devices on the network, based on the output from the monitor probe servers. The monitor probe servers transmit monitoring commands to the devices on the network, receives responses to the commands from the devices, and outputs the received responses to the monitor server, which in turn analyzes the responses received from the monitor probe servers, and displays results of the analysis.

  • Patent number: 6119142
Abstract: Upon transmission of document data in accordance with a transmission instruction from a client on a LAN, parameters such as a document identifier and an identifier of a receiver terminal are transmitted to a receiving-side communication apparatus. Transmission result (whether or not communication between the apparatus on both sides has been normally performed, whether or not the receiver terminal has been notified of the incoming call, whether or not the document data has been transferred to the receiver terminal, and the status of the terminal) sent from the receiving-side communication apparatus is managed in correspondence with the document identifier. Further, the transmission result is notified to the client that made the transmission instruction. The transmission-management information on plural transmission cases is print-outputted in a report format.

  • Patent number: 5847847
Abstract: In a color facsimile apparatus on a transmission side, color image information is encoded and stored in accordance with a parameter which optimizes the picture quality. A parameter regarding the picture quality of the color image information which a color facsimile apparatus on a reception side has is recognized and compared with the parameter of the color facsimile apparatus on the transmission side. In accordance with the comparison result, an image conversion of the stored color image information is executed.
