  • Publication number: 20070286570
Abstract: A playback apparatus includes a VOBU number retriever for obtaining the number of VOBU included in a title, a playback time retriever for obtaining playback time for the title and a playback controller for carrying out a special playback according to the number of VOBU and the playback time. The playback controller obtains average playback time for one VOBU from the playback time and number of VOBU for the title as unit playback time and refers to an address map of a VOBU according to the unit playback time to execute a high-speed search and time search.

  • Publication number: 20070005598
Abstract: A computer-readable storage medium storing a dataset sorting program is provided to sort records in a dataset into a plurality of destination groups according to a given key item specification. An item value extractor creates an item value list for every record. Then a frequent tree builder builds a frequent tree from the item value lists by finding patterns of item values that appear more often than a threshold specified by a given growth rate parameter. Each item value pattern is a leading part of an item value list with a variable length. A destination group mapper associates each node of the frequent tree with one of the plurality of destination groups. A record sorter traces the frequent tree according to the item value list of each given record, and upon reaching a particular node, puts the record into the destination group associated with that node.

  • Patent number: 7089227
Abstract: In a full text search retrieval device connected to a plurality of user terminals, a received retrieval condition and terminal device information are stored in a trailing character buffer. If it is determined that a preceding retrieving process is not being performed, then a retrieval pattern variable table and a retrieval request expression variable table are generated. According to the retrieval request expression variable table, a database of the data to be searched is searched to extract a retrieval result matching the retrieval condition transmitted from each of the terminal devices, and the extracted retrieval result is transmitted to each of the plurality of terminal devices. Thus, although retrieval requests are continuously transmitted from respective users, a retrieval result can be returned to each user terminal in the same response time as in the case where a user terminal corresponds to a retrieval device.

  • Patent number: 7080069
Abstract: A full text search system using a character string collation method which searches a large quantity of data using a plurality of search processing apparatuses is disclosed. This system comprises a search integration unit which divides search-target character string data into a group of character string records, allocates the divided records to one or more search processing apparatuses, transmits given character string search conditions to each search processing apparatus, and receives and integrates search results. Furthermore, this System comprises an update temporary storage unit which temporarily stores new character string records to update the search-target character string data and an update record search instruction unit which instructs the new character string records stored in the update temporary memory unit to any one of the search processing apparatuses determined in advance as a part of the search-target character string data.

  • Publication number: 20060129515
Abstract: Field information indicating the field of necessary data is obtained from data stored in each of one or more files. Then, the necessary data is automatically extracted from one or more files, according to the obtained field information and is stored in another file. Thus, necessary data stored in each file generated/accumulated by a plurality of application programs can be easily obtained.

  • Publication number: 20020010732
Abstract: The parallel processes run scheduling method, disclosed herein, reduces the overhead due to scheduling by coordinating the processing steps of the processors, not requiring explicit processor-to-processor communication. When being requested to activate or deactivate a parallel program, the parallel program manager commands the process queue managers on the processors to generate or remove the allocated process of the program. On each processor, in obedience to the command, the process queue manager enqueues or remove the process into or from the process queue. Each processor is equipped with a processes number counter to store the number of processes to run on the processor, corresponding to the number of parallel programs activated and an integrating counter that increments over time in synchronization with all other processors.

  • Patent number: 6064439
Abstract: An FM teletext broadcast receiver having a page memory function of holding designed specific page data upon completion of an FM teletext broadcast program includes a data storage section. The data storage section includes a data storage area for storing received data, a state bit table for indicating the use state of each block in the data storage area, an information table for managing program data stored in the data storage area, a page memory state bit table in which a bit data value indicating whether page data in each block in the data storage area is held upon completion of a program is set and held, and a page memory information table in which table data of predetermined management items for each block in which the page data is held/set is stored. The data storage area is shared between a program data storage area and a page memory storage area to attain flexible memory allocation.

  • Patent number: 5815170
Abstract: For an efficient memory use, a memory control method of the present invention of a character multiplexed broadcast receiver for controlling utilization of a data storing field (1) provided for storing data of pages of programs emitted in a character multiplexed broadcast comprises a step of checking when data of a page of a program are received whether the same data of the same page of the same program are already stored or not in any of blocks (1-1 to 1-n) of the data storing field (1) by searching an information table (3) comprising lines (3-1 to 3-l) sorted where is registered information of data stored in one of the blocks (1-1 to 1-n); a step of storing the data in an available block found by retrieving a status bit table (2) comprising a basic bit sequence (2-0), logic of its each bit indicating status of each corresponding block (1-1 to 1-n; a step of registering information of the data in the information table (3) by adding a new line; and a step of sorting the information table.
