  • Publication number: 20080225363
Abstract: An optical deflector includes a plurality of piezoelectric unimorph oscillating bodies (210a to 210d) that cause a reflecting plate (1) to oscillate rotationally, centering upon a pair of flexible support units (2a and 2b). The optical deflector forms a single structure of the oscillating plates (23a to 23b), the reflecting plate (1), the flexible support units (2a and 2b), and a support body (9), by connecting one set of the terminals of the oscillating plates (23a to 23d) of the suite of piezoelectric unimorph oscillating bodies (210a to 210d) to the flexible support units (2a and 2b), and connecting the other set of terminals to the support body (9). Furthermore, the plurality of piezoelectric unimorph oscillating bodies (210a to 210d) each respectively comprise a plurality of parallel oscillating bodies (23a1 to 23a-3, 23b-1 to 23b-3, 23c-1 to 23c-3), and (23d-1 to 23d-3), and a suite of parallel actuators (28a-1 to 28a-3, 28c-1 to 28c-3, and 28d-1 to 28d-3).

  • Publication number: 20070210480
Abstract: The present invention relates to a transparent polypropylene based sheet and its manufacturing method capable of: providing proper properties as a transparent sheet such as tensile characteristic, impact resistance, rigidity and little generation of whitening when being folded as well as maintaining transparency; preventing generation of a gum-like material in molding; and realizing continuous production. A manufacturing machine 1 includes: an extruding unit 11 for melting and kneading a raw material and extruding the material into a sheet-like shape; a first cooling unit 12 for cooling the melted sheet-like resin composition 20a to obtain a sheet (sheet-like article) 20; a preheating unit 13 for reheating the sheet 20; a heat treatment unit 14 for heat-treating the sheet-like resin composition 20; and a second cooling unit 15 for cooling the heat-treated sheet 20. The raw material of a resulting sheet 21 contains a polypropylene resin (a) and a metallocene-type ethylene-?-olefin copolymer (b).

  • Patent number: 7114933
Abstract: A potter's wheel for working clay and other pottery material on a turntable driven by a DC brushless motor. In order that driving speed is not affected by the load due to user's access to the work of clay, the speed of the motor detected by a speed detector is fed back to a speed control signal generator and a motor driving control signal is generated as a function of the difference between the detected motor speed and a directed speed inputted through a speed setter in response to the operation to a manipulation member. Then, a motor control generates such a motor driving signal as to make the motor driving control signal zero, with the motor driving signal being fed to the motor, thereby controlling the rotational speed of the turntable to be a directed value regardless of the load applied to the turntable via the work.

  • Patent number: 5952061
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and method for the fabrication of high quality silicon films by deposition of a silicon vapor onto a substrate. The silicon film fabrication apparatus includes a chamber, a crucible having an anode for melting a silicon metal, an anode for generating a DC arc discharge plasma, a substrate holder facing the crucible, and a heater for heating a substrate arranged in the substrate holder. The apparatus also includes a variable DC power supply, a cathode element including an electrode plate for generating the DC arc discharge plasma, a gas intake pipe penetrating through the electrode plate into the chamber, and an exhaust pipe having a valve facing the gas intake pipe. The silicon film is fabricated by disposing a substrate in a chamber, introducing hydrogen gas into the chamber, generating the DC arc discharge plasma, evaporating the silicon metal in the chamber, and depositing the silicon vapor on the substrate after the vapor passes through the DC arc discharge plasma.

  • Patent number: 5683645
Abstract: A laminated resin sheet consisting of (a) at least one layer of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymeric resin (EVOH resin), (b) at least one layer of a hot-melt adhesive resin and (c) at least one layer of a polystrene-based resin, the layer (b) being interposed between the layers (a) and (c) to serve to adhesively bond them together. The laminated sheet has excellent moldability only when the EVOH resin has a thermal characteristic specified in terms of the integrated value of the peak areas in a diagram obtained by the DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) measurement in the course of temperature elevation. The sheet may be formed into a vessel having a multilayered wall structure by hot molding.

  • Patent number: 5281453
Abstract: A multilayer composite and an easily openable container produced by using the multilayer composite are provided. The multilayer composite comprises a surface layer of a polyolefin resin, an intermediate layer of a mixture of a polystyrenic resin with a thermoplastic elastomer or with a thermoplastic elastomer and a polyolefin resin, and a base layer of a polystyrenic resin, and the peeling strength between the intermediate layer and the base layer is larger than the peeling strength between the surface layer and the intermediate layer. The easily openable container produced by using the multilayer composite is capable of being sealed with a lid strongly while maintaining easy openability because the opening of the sealed container is performed utilizing the peeling between the surface layer and the intermediate layer.
