  • Publication number: 20140302673
Abstract: Metal contacts with low contact resistances are formed in a group III-N HEMT by forming metal contact openings in the barrier layer of the group III-N HEMT to have depths that correspond to low contact resistances. The metal contact openings are etched in the barrier layer with a first gas combination that etches down into the barrier layer, and a second gas combination that etches further down into the barrier layer.

  • Publication number: 20140303223
Abstract: The invention provides methods for muscle repair or regeneration comprising administering therapeutically effective amounts of RAR agonists or stem cells that are pretreated with contact with a RAR agonist to a subject at a site of muscle damage. Additionally, the invention provides compositions comprising RAR agonist treated stem cells and methods of use of said cells for muscle repair or regeneration. In one embodiment, the stem cells are mesenchymal stem cells. In one embodiment, the RAR agonist is an RAR? agonist. In one embodiment, administration of the RAR agonist is begun during a period of increased endogenous retinoid signaling in the subject resulting from incurrence of the damaged muscle tissue.

  • Patent number: 8318658
Abstract: This invention provides cell-calcification inhibitory proteins as well as genes encoding the proteins. Based on the discovery of a novel isoform gene of the c-erg gene (herein referred to as “C-11 gene”) which is an erg gene derived from chickens, the nucleotide sequence of the gene has been determined, and then the expression of a protein encoded by such gene (herein referred to as “C-11 protein”) has been confirmed. Further, it has been discovered that when the c-erg or C-11 gene is introduced into osteoblasts, the calcification of the cells is inhibited.

  • Publication number: 20110239445
Abstract: A method for reusing a secondary battery by reusing unit cells or battery modules constituting reclaimed assembled batteries (or battery packs) to reconstruct a new assembled battery is disclosed. Assembled batteries are reclaimed, and disassembled into battery modules. The battery modules are selected based on battery characteristics such as an open-circuit voltage (OCV) and the like using an absolute acceptable range and a relative acceptable range, and a new assembled battery is rebuilt. The relative acceptable range is an acceptable range which is set for each assembled battery, and is set to have its center at an average value of a battery characteristic distribution.

  • Patent number: 7501852
Abstract: A tolerant input circuit that functions stably regardless of fabrication differences without having to adjust the threshold value of an input circuit. The tolerant input circuit includes a step-down device configured by an N-channel MOS transistor connected between an input pad and the input circuit. Voltage from a power supply is supplied to the gate of the N-channel MOS transistor in the step-down device to decrease the voltage of a high voltage signal provided to the input pad to the voltage of the power supply or lower. The signal with decreased voltage is provided to the input circuit. The tolerant input circuit includes a back gate voltage control circuit for increasing back gate voltage of the N-channel MOS transistor in the step-down device when the input pad is provided with a high voltage signal.
