  • Patent number: 7379967
Abstract: The present invention relates to the improvement of the Bit Torrent protocol, which is one of the P2P protocols. A seeder flag is added to the active peer table. First a super seeder having the original is activated, and the super seeder is stopped when the total value of the seeder flags (number of activated seeders) reaches a certain level. The super seeders are activated only when the seeders having the original of a file are insufficient on the network, and are stopped when excessive. By this dynamic control, the number of activated processes of the super seeders can be decreased.

  • Patent number: 6773555
Abstract: The present invention relates to a flue gas treatment method and apparatus for removing sulfur oxides by injecting ammonia into flue gas containing sulfur oxides. In the flue gas treatment method for removing sulfur oxides contained in the flue gas using ammonia, the present invention is characterized in that ammonia is injected into the flue gas containing sulfur oxides to react sulfur oxides with ammonia to produce ammonium compounds containing ammonium sulfate, and after recovering the produced ammonium compounds from the flue gas, the flue gas is brought into contact with an absorption liquid to remove residual sulfur oxides and/or ammonia contained in the flue gas.

  • Patent number: 6724003
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electron beam-irradiating reaction apparatus for irradiating a desired object to be treated, such as an exhaust gas, with an electron beam. Conventionally, a scanning tube of an electron beam irradiation device and a reaction device-for receiving the electron beam are rigidly connected. Therefore, excessive stress is applied to a connecting portion between the scanning tube and the reaction device and not only leakage of gas from the connecting portion, but also breakage of a metal window foil provided at an end portion of the scanning tube are likely to occur. In the present invention, to solve such problems, a flexible hermetic sealing member 23 is provided between a portion around the end portion of the scanning tube 12 and a peripheral edge 18a of an electron beam receiving window in a side wall of an electron beam reaction device 18.

  • Patent number: 6202990
Abstract: A dry spray tower unattended by generation of waste water has a top provided with a gas inlet port, an expanded portion extending downwardly from the top which gradually enlarges, and spray nozzles attached to the expanded portion or a portion immediately downstream from the expanded portion to spray water and/or an absorbing solution, thereby cooling and moistening a gas and/or removing a harmful component from the gas. A gas distributing device is disposed in or around the expanded portion at a position upstream from the spray nozzles for making the downward component of flow velocity of the gas faster at the peripheral portion of the spray tower than at the central portion thereof, whereby sprayed liquid droplets are prevented from colliding with the inner wall of the tower.

  • Patent number: 6179968
Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating gas by irradiation with an electron beam. Flue gas discharged from a fuel combustion facility is treated with an electron beam to remove sulfur oxides and/or nitrogen oxides. Ammonia is added to the flue gas and the mixed gas is irradiated with an electron beam in a process vessel. A dust collector receives the gas and collects a by-product mainly composed of ammonium sulfate and/or ammonium nitrate which is produced by the reaction in the process vessel. A gas-contacting portion extending from the process vessel to the dust collector is cooled either wholly or partly, to a dew point of the gas or below.

  • Patent number: 6054714
Abstract: An electron beam irradiation apparatus. The apparatus allows an electron beam which is generated in a vacuum container to pass through a window foil that separates the vacuum container from a process vessel. The beam irradiates gas containing moisture to thereby process the gas. The apparatus includes the vacuum container, the process vessel and the window foil. The window foil has a surface for contacting the wet gas and is made of titanium or an alloy containing titanium as its main component. The surface of the window foil is coated with one of the platinum metals such as palladium.

  • Patent number: 5834722
Abstract: The improved method for treating waste gases by exposure to electron beams which comprises adding ammonia to a waste gas containing sulfur oxide (SO.sub.x) and/or nitrogen oxides (NO.sub.x) and thereafter exposing the gas to an electron beam so as to remove the sulfur oxides and/or nitrogen oxides therefrom is characterized by first mixing ammonia gas uniformly with air, then forming a homogeneous gas-liquid mixture from said gaseous mixture and water, and spraying said homogeneous mixture into a reactor. Efficient desulfurization can be realized even if the temperature of the waste gas being treated is fairly high at the exit of the reactor and the concentration of ammonium sulfamate in the by-product ammonium sulfate can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5244552
Abstract: A process for desulfurization and denitration of waste gas by multi-stage electron beam irradiation and an apparatus used for the process are constituted so that the waste gas is passed through the electron beam irradiation zones in multiple irradiation chambers that are arranged in such a way that the center-to-center distance (m) between two neighboring electron beam generators is not shorter than distance X calculated by the formula, X=2.alpha.+tV wherein 2.alpha. means distance over which an absorbed dose extends into a waster gas, t means a residence time (sec.) of waste gas in a non-irradiation zone, and V stands for the flow velocity of waste gas, whereby t can be reduced to 0.01-0.5 seconds, so that irradiated energy can be utilized efficiently and a maximum effect can be obtained with a minimum expenditure of irradiation energy. Therefore, the waste gas can be treated rapidly and economically.
