  • Patent number: 6876694
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to estimate and compensate more accurately transmission channels in CDMA signal decoding. Memory means stores received despread data. Slot position detection means detects positions of pilot symbols. Pilot symbol averaging means obtains transmission channel estimation value per pilot block, by averaging a plurality of reception channels in each pilot block. The transmission channel estimation values are delayed by delay means, multiplied by their weight and added by multi-pilot block transmission channel estimation means. Here, the weighs are controlled adaptively by weight determination means in accordance with the state of the channel. Channel compensation means compensate m-th information symbol in the n-th slot including the pilot block on the basis of the estimation values obtained by the multi-pilot block transmission channel estimation means.

  • Patent number: 6816542
Abstract: A direct sequence CDMA receiver is disclosed that includes an interpolative delay profile production unit. An A/D converter receives signals that have been received by an antenna and converted to a baseband signal and samples the signals at twice the chip rate. A matched filter finds correlation values with the received data using a spreading code of 1/−1, and the delay profile production means interpolates these correlation values by means of, for example, a filter. A timing detector selects delay profiles in descending order of size, and extracts the timings of each. A despreader interpolates the spreading code to synchronize with the timing signals, and using these interpolated values carries out despreading of the received data. A mixer carries out RAKE/diversity mixing of the despread signals.

  • Patent number: 6804531
Abstract: A transmission power control system of a mobile communications base stations controls the transmission power level of a mobile station. A mobile station receives a transmission power control command transmitted over a forward-link from a base station for making a reception condition of a reverse-link at the base station substantially fixed. A reception quality estimation section of the mobile station estimates the reception quality of the transmission power control command, and a transmission power control section controls the transmission power with a control width which is varied in response to the reception quality estimated by the reception quality estimation section. If the communication conditions of the forward-link becomes unfavorable, the transmission power of the mobile station is prevented from being displaced by a significant amount in a direction different from the last instruction from the base station.
