    Abstract: A reverse input blocking clutch comprises, as main elements, an input member, an output member, a stationary member for constraining the revolutions, locking means, lock release means and torque transmission means. By forming the input member, the output member, the stationary member and a fixed side plate from metal plates such as press worked steel plates, a compact, lightweight and low cost reverse input blocking clutch is provided, Reverse input torque from the output member is locked in both the forward and reverse rotational directions relative to the stationary member, by rollers which function as the locking means. Input torque from the input member in both the forward and reverse rotational directions is transmitted to the output member via apertures 1d and protrusions which function as the torque transmission means.

    Abstract: A reclining seat having a backrest adjustable to any desired angle. The backrest is inclinably connected to the rear of the seat cushion. A fixed ring and a rotary ring are provided around an axis about which the backrest pivots. The fixed ring is mounted to the seat cushion and the rotary ring to the backrest. Cam grooves having a V-shaped section are formed in the outer circumferential surface of the fixed ring. Rolling elements are mounted between the cam grooves and a cylindrical inner surface of the rotary ring. With the backrest adjusted to a desired angle, the rolling elements are brought into frictional contact with the cam groove bottoms and the cylindrical surface to lock the backrest. An operating member having a lever is coaxially and rotatably mounted on a cage.

When each of the rolling elements 3 is held in the corresponding cam face 6 at a location intermediate thereof, gaps are formed between the rolling elements 3 and the outer race 2 or cam faces 6 in a radial direction.

    Abstract: An in-cylinder pressure sensing apparatus for a multi-cylinder engine has a plurality of sensing parts packaged between a cylinder head and a cylinder block of an engine having a plurality of cylinders and being operative to detect a signal indicative of an internal pressure of each of the plurality of cylinders. A detection circuit is provided for connecting the sensing parts in series and for overlapping detection signals obtained from the individual sensing parts to take out a resulting overlapped signal. A reference signal generator operates to supply a reference signal for separating detection signals corresponding to the individual cylinders from the overlapped signal. A unit is also provided for separating the detection signals, detected in accordance with pressures of the individual cylinders, from the overlapped signal on the basis of the reference signal.

    Abstract: A one-way clutch operates stably even while an engine is revolving at a speed that tends to resonate the springs of the clutch. The clutch has an outer ring formed with a plurality of cam surfaces on its inner periphery at equal intervals in the circumferential direction. An inner ring mounted in the outer ring has a cylindrical outer surface that faces the cam surfaces. Wedge-like spaces are defined between the cam surfaces an the cylindrical outer surface. Rollers and springs are mounted in the wedge-like spaces so that the rollers are biased by the springs toward narrower ends of the wedge-like spaces. The springs are made up of at least two different kinds of springs having different spring constants. Thus, even if one of at least two kinds of springs should resonate, the other springs will reliably keep the rollers locked between the cam surfaces and the cylindrical surface or move them to unlocked position. The life of the clutch is thus increased.

    Abstract: A torque limiter adapted to be automatically reset after a long period of time. The inner ring (1) has a cylindrical surface (5). A polygonal engaging surface (9) is formed on the outer ring (2) by a leaf spring in the shape of a polygonal ring. A cage (11) having pockets is provided between the inner and outer rings (1, 2). Rollers (13) received in the pockets are adapted to engage the cylindrical surface (5) and the engaging surface (9) at the narrowest portions. The inner ring (1) has an eccentric surface (15) on which is supported a bearing (16) which holds the cage (11) in a diametrically offset position. An annular portion (20) of the cage (11) is brought into contact with an annular portion (19) of the outer ring (2). As the torque increases with the rollers (13) engaged, the leaf spring (8) is deformed and the rollers (13) pass through the engaging positions, so that the clutch is disengaged.

    Abstract: A rotary unit with a built-in clutch which is short in its axial length. The rotary unit has an inner member having an outer periphery formed with a raceway groove and a pair of cylindrical surfaces on both sides of the raceway groove, and a cylindrical outer member having an inner periphery formed with a raceway groove and a pair of cylindrical surfaces on both sides of the groove. A retainer mounted between the inner and outer members has a plurality of circumferentially spaced pockets each housing a rolling member and sprag housing recesses provided alternately with the pockets. In each recess is received a sprag having both ends thereof resting on the opposing cylindrical surfaces and biased by a resilient member so that its inner and outer arcuate surfaces contact the cylindrical surfaces. By arranging the sprags and the rolling members alternately with each other in the circumferential direction, it is possible to reduce the entire axial length of the rotary unit.

    Abstract: A system for electronically storing and retrieving information. Information is scanned into the system and a user manually designates that the information is to be sorted using boxes which are like folders, sorted by date, or sorted by a card such as by cards which are arranged alphabetically. When the user manually indicates that the information is to be sorted by box, there is also an automatic sort by date and by card. In this case the card which is used is a temporary sort card which is automatically designated. When the user manually indicates that the sort is other than by box, the information is automatically sorted into a temporary box. After the information is stored and sorted, the information can be retrieved and printed, as desired. The system utilizes a scanner, processor, storage device and printer.
