  • Patent number: 4596700
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a single crystal according to the CZ method, which comprisesa closed container consisting of upper and lower halves and having a shaft for pulling up the single crystal, at least a part of which contacting with said vapor of the elements is made of a material containing an element of the same group of the periodic table as that of component elements of the single crystal, a gap between said shaft and the container and an opening between said upper and lower halves of the container being sealed with a sealing material,at least one reservoir positioned in the container for supplying vapor of a volatile component element of the single crystal, anda heating means provided around the container; wherein a hot zone of the apparatus including the container is made of a material which has an X-ray absorption coefficient not larger than 5 cm.sup.2 /g, and said material of the hot zone has such thickness that X-ray transmittance through the whole hot zone is 10.sup.

  • Patent number: 4438738
Abstract: A rocker arm made from a carbon-fiber reinforced resin is disclosed wherein various axes are defined with particularity such as the central axis of the hole through which the rocker shaft is inserted (Z-axis), a line parallel to the edge of the valve side (Y-axis) and the line that is parallel to the cam side (Y'axis). The bisect of the angle at which the Y-axis crosses the Y'axis is the X-axis. Further, cos.sup.2 .beta. of the carbon fibers present in the Y- or Y'axis side with respect to the X-Z axis is defined in detail where .beta. is a defined angle of orientation as is cos.sup.2 .alpha. which is defined in the specification. The rocker arm is produced by filling a rocker arm mold with a carbon fiber-containing synthetic resin such that cos.sup.2 .beta. of the carbon fibers meets a defined value to such an extent that the cos.sup.2 .alpha. meets a defind value. The rocker arm is lighter and stronger than conventional rocker arms.

  • Patent number: 4299524
Abstract: In a device for picking up tubular workpieces sequentially from a stack, and supplying the same to a subsequent stage, at least one truck is provided so as to be reciprocable between a loading position and an unloading position. In the loading position, the tubular workpieces are stacked up on the truck in an orderly manner into a number of layers, each layer including a plurality of rows each including a number of axially aligned tubular workpieces. A workpiece carrying bar reciprocable between an advanced position passing through the inner bores of a row of the tubular workpieces and a retracting position freeing the row, device for shifting the workpiece carrying bar horizontally and vertically, and devices for controlling the operation of the aforementioned devices are further provided.
