  • Patent number: 6330028
Abstract: An image pickup device includes a flash memory wherein picked-up image data is recorded. The flash memory includes a data block that stores the image data, and managing blocks which store managing data such as directory entries and a FAR chain. Image data is entered into the data block of the flash memory while the managing data is being written. When the power supply is accidentally turned off during the data entering operation and an abnormality occurs in the managing data, correct image data cannot be read out. The image pick-up device provides measures for eliminating such troubles. To this end, the flash memory includes a data block that stores a plurality of image data files, a pair of managing blocks that manage the data block, and a pair of checksum storage areas that have stored check data used to check respective data stored in the pair of managing blocks.

  • Patent number: 6188431
Abstract: The communication terminal of one electronic still camera is connected to that of the other electronic still camera by means of a specific cable or infrared rays. The image data item to be transferred is selected from the image data items stored in the flash memory in the electronic still camera on the transmission side and the image data is displayed on the LCD. After determining the image data by pressing the shutter key in the key input section of one electronic still camera functioning as the master, the user specifies transmission or reception. The camera whose shutter has been pressed functions as a master and the other camera functions as a slave. In transmission, all or a given one of the image data items in the flash memory are transmitted to the slave camera. In reception, the image data is transmitted from the slave camera to the master camera. The received image data is stored in the flash memory via a DRAM.

  • Patent number: 5130813
Abstract: An image data supervising system includes an imaging device, a reproducing device and a data supervising unit for processing, for instance, an electronic still image. In the image data supervising system, the still images are recorded on a recording medium such as a video floppy disk, and the data relating to the still images recorded on the recording medium are written into an memory unit. The data which have been written in the memory unit can be confirmed at any desirable time by way of the data supervising unit. While the image data which have been recorded on the recording medium are reproduced by the reproducing device, any desirable data can be superimposed on this reproduced image data.
