Patent number: 7812364Abstract: A semiconductor light emitting device has an outer lead disposed along an outer wall of a mold resin portion perpendicular to a light-emitting plane of a light emitting diode. An outer lead is also disposed at an outer wall of the mold resin portion parallel to and opposite to the light-emitting plane. The outer wall of the resin mold where the outer lead is disposed is taken as a mount face. Each outer wall of the mold resin portion constituting a mount face includes at least one outer lead for an anode and a cathode. According to the present configuration, there is provided a semiconductor light emitting device that allows selection of side-emission mounting or top-emission mounting with the same components on a mount substrate.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2008Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masahiro Seko, Hisayuki Shinohara

Patent number: 7473014Abstract: An LED lamp has a convex lens 3 which has an upper portion 5 and a lower portion 6. An upper curved surface 5A of the upper portion is different in shape from a lower curved surface 6A of the lower portion 6 so as to refract rays of light from an LED chip 2 more strongly than the lower curved surface 6A does. This avoids reflection of incident outside light toward a front and hence prevents misrecognition. An interface plane S1 between the upper and lower portions 5 and 6 of the convex lens 3 is located on an upper end face 2A to thereby prevent collection of outgoing light upon the interface plane S1 and generation of an irregular emission peak at the front.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2005Date of Patent: January 6, 2009Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masaaki Katoh, Masatoshi Omoto, Masataka Miyata, Keiji Takasugi, Masahiro Seko

Patent number: 6013275Abstract: Since an inorganic and/or organic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic substance are used in combination in this invention to produce an antibacterial composition, the intrinsic antibacterial activity of the inorganic or organic antibacterial agent is markedly increased, so that the antibacterial agent used even in a low concentration shows a high antibacterial activity. High antibacterial moldings can be obtained at a relatively low cost by laminating the antibacterial composition of the invention on an inorganic or organic substrate.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 1998Date of Patent: January 11, 2000Assignee: Toyo Boseki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigeji Konagaya, Hideto Ohashi, Akito Hamano, Masahiro Seko, Masakazu Tanaka
