  • Patent number: 7992027
Abstract: The power supply device of the present invention supplies power individually to a plurality of disk drives by rendering a plurality of DC/DC converters redundant. One redundant power supply substrate is assigned to a plurality of normal power supply substrates. One redundant power supply substrate supports the outputs of a plurality of normal power supply substrates. The main DC/DC converters in the normal power supply substrate correspond with the subgroups on a one-for-one basis. The secondary DC/DC converters in the redundant power supply substrate each correspond with all of the respective subgroups and are able to supply power to a predetermined single disk drive among the respective disk drives in the subgroups for each of the subgroups.

  • Patent number: 7557461
Abstract: The power supply device of the present invention supplies power highly reliably by suppressing an increase in costs even when a multiplicity of load groups are present. When operating normally, each of the normal power supply units supplies power via a normal path to each of the load groups. One redundant power supply unit is provided for a plurality of normal power supply units. When any of the normal power supply units fail, the redundant power supply unit continues to supply power to the load group via the redundant path. A diode for connecting the redundant path to the normal path is provided in each normal power supply unit and the redundant paths that are routed through the respective normal power supply units are connected so as to intersect one another between the normal power supply units.

  • Patent number: 7420802
Abstract: A disk array device including a logic mounting unit which mounts a cache memory which temporarily stores data transferred from a high-level device and performs control to write the data stored in the cache memory to a plurality of memory devices at the time of power failure. The power supply from the battery mounting unit to the plurality of memory devices is sequentially stopped in an order of memory device to which data writing from the cache memory has been completed at a time of the power failure, and even after the power supply to the hard disks in which the destage has been completed is stopped, the power supply into the cache memory from the battery is continued.

  • Patent number: 7376570
Abstract: A system and method for customer satisfaction survey for a customer service provided over a telephone network. A customer initiates a telephone call to a customer service number provided by a company. The company's PBX receives the call and transfers it to a computer telephony integration (CTI) server for dynamically assigning an available customer service representative to the call. During the course of a call, the CTI server monitors the call for push-tones transmitted by the caller. Receipt of a push-tone during the conversation is assumed to be an indication of the customer's satisfaction associated with the call at the time the push-tone was transmitted. The CTI server also presents questions to the customer at the end of the call but prior to hangup to receive additional feedback about the customer's satisfaction about the call. The gathered information is stored as customer satisfaction data for later analysis by an analysis computer.

  • Patent number: 7222081
Abstract: A system and method for continuously monitoring and updating delivery schedules based on completed deliveries and customer modifications. A delivery scheduling computer stores and updates delivery schedule information, notifying the customer prior to a scheduled delivery of an estimated time of delivery. The notification is made to a customer's PC, browser-based client, hand-held computer or set-top box, or by conventional communication methods such as a telephone, pager, or cellular phone. If the customer desires to change the time or location of the delivery, the customer transmits a delivery change request and the schedule is modified accordingly. Employees use a hand-held computer or a browser-based client to receive updated delivery schedule information, as well as to transmit a delivery completion message to the delivery scheduling computer. The message includes an actual delivery time which the delivery scheduling computer uses to update the estimated delivery times of the remaining deliveries.
