  • Publication number: 20020136925
Abstract: In an electronic apparatus wherein the terminal of an organic EL device is connected to the terminal of a drive circuit substrate by an anisotropic conductive member, contact resistance between the terminals of the organic EL device and the anisotropic conductive member is reduced, enabling the drive voltage of the organic EL device to be reduced. Terminal covering sections comprise aluminum thin-films, and are provided independently over terminals for anode and the terminal for cathode of the organic EL device. These terminals are made by patterning of an ITO thin-film, as are wirings between the anode and anode terminals of the organic EL device. Continuity paths of an anisotropic conductive rubber member connect the terminals of the organic EL device to terminals of a drive circuit substrate. At this time, the end face of the anisotropic conductive rubber member on the top side of the continuity paths touches the terminal covering sections.

  • Patent number: 6343580
Abstract: An improved journaling and sensor mounting arrangement for the VVT mechanisms of a twin overhead cam engine. By utilizing a combined single bearing cap for the VVT ends of the camshafts that mounts the sensors that are associated with timing wheels on the respective camshafts, it is possible to maintain a very neat external appearance and a compact construction. Also, high accuracy can be obtained because of the positive rotation of the components. In addition, a simplified oil supply and control arrangement is also disclosed for lubricating the thrust surfaces of the camshaft bearings and other bearing surfaces as well as supplying hydraulic fluid to the VVT mechanisms.

  • Publication number: 20010033482
Abstract: A front-end surface illumination device is provided which is high in visibility when it is illuminated or not, low in power consumption, and compact. When a light beam emitted from an organic electroluminescence element formed on an end face of a light transmission plate reaches projecting portions, the light is emitted from the light transmission plate, and irradiated on an illuminated object. In this constitution, the light transmission plate has the function of projecting the light beam to the illuminated object, and transmitting the light beam reflected by the illuminated object with little diffusion.

  • Publication number: 20010020818
Abstract: The invention provides a linear organic electroluminescent light source which is high in brightness and capable of realizing white color. A brighter light source can be obtained compared with a light source having only one organic electroluminescent element by forming the organic electroluminescent element to have at least one organic layer, which emits light, on both sides of a transparent substrate, and covering the transparent substrate with a mirror which is high in reflectance except one end face of the transparent substrate. When the same brightness as that of a light source having one element is obtained, the power consumption can be suppressed. The light source can thus emit white light.

  • Patent number: 6055958
Abstract: A control valve arrangement for a three-valve-per-cylinder internal combustion engine. The control valve arrangement controls not only the effective length of the intake passage serving each combustion chamber, but also controls the flow through the intake passage so as to generate turbulence under low-speed and low-load conditions. The control valve further includes a pair of valves which change not only the effective flow area, but also the effective flow direction. In this way varying degrees and types of turbulence can be generated during different engine running conditions. A number of different types of valve arrangements are disclosed.
