  • Patent number: 8469524
Abstract: A projection display device includes: an aperture part which narrows light traveling toward an imager; a control part which controls the aperture part; a detection part which detects brightness of an image to be projected; and a determination part which determines whether the image is a still image or a moving image. In this arrangement, the control part operates the aperture part so as to narrow the light when the brightness of the image detected by the detection part is darker than predetermined brightness, and operates the aperture part so as to further narrow the light when the brightness of the image detected by the detection part becomes darker than the predetermined brightness. In addition, the control part sets the predetermined brightness for operating the aperture part so as to be darker when the image is the still image than when the image is the moving image.

  • Patent number: 8111337
Abstract: An LCD projector has LCD panels, each including polarization plates one on the light incidence side and another on the light emitting side of each LCD panel. The LCD panel is provided with a highly transparent auxiliary polarization plate between the LCD panel and the polarization plate on the light emitting side. The LCD panel is further provided with an optically anisotropic transparent substrate for supporting the highly transparent auxiliary polarization plate. The transparent substrate is arranged such that one of its anisotropic optical axes is inclined at an angle not more than 0.5 degrees with respect to the face of the auxiliary polarization plate when the face is parallel to the direction of light propagation. This arrangement ensures longer lives of the polarization plates on the light emitting sides while suppressing color irregularity on a black screen and degradation of picture contrast of the LCD projector.

  • Patent number: 6307581
Abstract: The ink film unit is configured by fixing the fixed shaft that penetrates the inside of the hollow, cylindrical feeding reel, right side plate and left side plate and attaching the winding reel to the right side plate and left side plate in a pivotable manner. The main unit is provided with the grooves that house and position the right side plate and left side plate, and the U-figured holders that hold the feeding reel and winding reel. This makes it possible to reduce the space for installation of the ink film unit, reducing the size of the facsimile apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4845570
Abstract: An optical image sensor has a body case on which an elongate image sensing window is formed, a linear lamp disposed in the case so as to be parallel to the window, and an optically image snesing unit disposed in the case. The unit optically senses the image on a document moving on the case across the window by utilizing the reflection of light emitted from the lamp when the image passes over the window. The linear lamp is so disposed in the case that the center in the longitudinal direction thereof is not brought into coincidence with the center of the window, and a portion of the case, corresponding to the one end of the lamp which is further away from the center of the window, is constructed as a pair of article holding recesses.
