  • Publication number: 20110180676
Abstract: A clipping structure includes a main body, a clip member, and an urging member for urging the clip member. The main body has a connecting protrusion, whereas the clip member has two lateral parts, between which the connecting protrusion is arranged. Further, the connecting protrusion has receptacles on its outer surfaces, whereas the lateral parts have shaft projections on its inner surfaces respectively. Fitting of the shaft projections into the respective receptacles connects the clipping member swingably to the main body. The connecting protrusion, where the receptacles are formed, has tapered portions formed on its outer surfaces respectively. Gradual opening of a gap between the lateral parts with distal ends of the shaft projections brought into contact with the respective tapered portions fits the shaft projections in the respective receptacles.

  • Patent number: 7414394
Abstract: When testing the quality of shield films of magnetoresistive effect heads, a method of testing and a testing apparatus can detect heads where the shield magnetic domain is susceptible to changing that could not be completely detected by conventional methods of testing that use normal magnetization. The method of testing applies an external magnetic field to a magnetoresistive effect head as external stress, measures the output voltage of the head, and repeats the applying of the external magnetic field and the measuring a plurality of times to test the quality of the shield film. The magnetic field is applied in a direction parallel to the shield film and at an angle to a floating surface of the magnetoresistive effect head. The intensity of the applied magnetic field is smaller than the coercive force of a hard bias film and larger than the coercive force of the shield film.

  • Publication number: 20080155886
Abstract: An insect repellent device and a method for manufacturing the same, the insect repellent device containing an active ingredient being volatilizable at normal temperature. An insect repellent device adapted to volatilize an active ingredient contained in an insect controlling agent by waving motion includes a frame and a face-forming member, which is fixed to the frame. The face-forming member has on its entire surface a coating layer formed by surface treatment such as varnishing. The coating layer holds the insect controlling agent containing the active ingredient being volatilizable at normal temperature. The ingredient volatilizes from the coating layer, thereby exerting an effect of an insect-repellent. The coating layer is formed by the surface treatment using a surface treatment agent containing the insect controlling agent, which has been prepared by adding the insect controlling agent to a surface treatment agent.

  • Publication number: 20040170528
Abstract: A gas indicator, which can be used over a broad range of gas concentration from a low concentration gas to a high concentration gas, includes a substrate sheet and plural change-color layers formed from a gas sensor ink on said substrate. The plural change-color layers are formed parallel to each other in a stripe pattern. The gas sensor ink contains an anthraquinone dye having at least one of a primary amino group or a secondary amino group.

  • Patent number: 6783295
Abstract: An applicator (1) is provided, such that an end closure or a proximal plug (3) fitted in a cylindrical body (2) of the applicator can be removed easily without use of a coin or the like tool. Repeated easy operations for attaching and detaching the plug will not impair firm engagement of the plug with the body, protecting the plug from inadvertently slipping off. The plug (3) is a double-cylinder composed of an outer tube (15) combined with an inner tube (16), and two slots (30,31) are formed in the outer tube so as to extend from its rear end to, and desirably across, a flange (25). Fore ends of the slots continue to a cutout (35). An exposed part of the plug can be pinched in part to reduce its apparent diameter, thus making the outer tube sections (40,41) distort themselves elastically towards each other, thus facilitating removal of the plug.

  • Patent number: 6494634
Abstract: A penpoint tip and an applicator having the tip incorporated in it are disclosed, the applicator (1) is composed of a shaft (2), an inking core (3) and a cap (4). The inking core (3) has a penpoint tip (5), an ink reservoir (6), a connector (7) and a valve (8). The penpoint tip (5) constituting an ink applying member has six balls (10) arranged in a row in a distal end of the tip. Each ball (10) is exposed outwards in part out of a slit-shaped opening (16) of a tip body (12).

  • Patent number: 5938361
Abstract: A novel writing utensil in which an ink holder unit can be inserted into, and extracted from, a housing/main shaft. Helicoid screw threads are formed on the outer circumferential surface of a coupling portion of the ink holder unit or an inner circumferential surface of the main shaft. The main shaft or the outer circumferential surface of the ink holder unit without the screw threads is made of an elastic material for allowing the screw threads to bite thereinto. The coupling portion of the ink holder unit can be threaded into the main housing or pressed in a straight line thereinto. The ink holder unit can be extracted by relatively rotating the ink holder unit and main housing.

  • Patent number: 5709492
Abstract: A liquid applicator using a roller which is effectively prevented from being disengaged from the housing thereof. The liquid applicator provides very smooth flow of ink from the initial touch of drawing without generating a scratchy effect. The improved liquid applicator introduces a roller in place of a conventional ball of a ball pen. The roller is a hollow structure. A roller-storing portion is defined by a surface having stepped tapered portions. The liquid applicator incorporates a relay core. The relay core comes into contact with the roller in the roller-storing portion to press the roller in the direction of an aperture on the roller-storing portion.

  • Patent number: 5348411
Abstract: A writing implement includes a valve device provided at a specified position along a liquid passage along which liquid to be applied flows. The valve device has a ball valve member, a chamber portion in which the ball valve member is placed, the chamber portion having a cross-section in the form of a non-circular substantially circumscribing the ball valve member, a sealing portion operable to come to contact with the ball valve member entirely along a circumference of the ball valve member to interrupt the flow of liquid, and a restricting portion operable to come to contact with a circumferential portion of the ball valve member to restrict the movement of the ball valve member toward a leading end of the writing implement.

  • Patent number: 5114258
Abstract: A cap includes a cap body and a clip attached to the cap body. The cap body has a small portion in a tip side thereof, and the sectional shape of the small portion is smaller than that of the adjacent portion. The clip has an annular mounting portion mounted on the outside of the small portion. An air passage is formed between the mounting portion and the small portion, and adapted for communicating a space before the tip side end with a space between the clip body and the cap body in a tail side portion of the cap. Alternately, a cap is formed with a first air passage between the mounting portion and the small portion for communicating a space before the tip end of the mounting portion and a space after the tail end of the mounting portion, a second air passage formed in the cap body for communicating a space before the cap body and a space after the cap body, the first air passage being connected to the second air passage.
