  • Patent number: 6836710
Abstract: In a vehicle management system of the present invention, a preparing unit prepares frequency distribution data based on travel information, a transmitting unit transmits the travel information and the frequency distribution data to an external database, and a distributing unit analyzes travel conditions of the vehicle based on data accumulated in the database and distributes an analyzed result to allow the cause of a malfunction of a vehicle to be investigated based upon real-time data collected during operation of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6701232
Abstract: A vehicle management system for monitoring vehicle maintenance conditions includes a self-diagnosing system mounted on a vehicle for monitoring a control system by an on-board diagnosis apparatus and for storing a diagnosis information with first data related to a target diagnosis when an abnormality is recognized and second data being close to a trouble determination level even though within a normal range. A data communication system transmits the diagnosis information to an outside receiver via a wireless communication. An external database system receives the diagnosis information to accumulate it. A network system analyzes the second data and distributes an analyzed result to at least one of a user of the vehicle and a department with an access right to the database system.

  • Patent number: 6477889
Abstract: A highly accurate diagnosing apparatus for an evaporation purge system, which is not so easily affected by fluctuation in an atmospheric pressure. An evaporation system including a fuel tank is set in a pressure state different from an atmospheric pressure, and then hermetically sealed during leakage diagnosis. A reference pressure is introduced to the reference pressure introduction side of a relative pressure sensor, and a pressure in the evaporation system is introduced to the detected pressure introduction side thereof. In an atmosphere introduction passage for opening the reference pressure introduction side of the relative pressure sensor to atmosphere, a solenoid valve is provided for the relative pressure sensor. During the leakage diagnosis, a control unit sets the solenoid valve in a closed state, holds the reference pressure at a constant value, and then determines the presence of leakage in the evaporation system based on a relative pressure change detected by the relative pressure sensor.

  • Publication number: 20020161496
Abstract: In a vehicle management system of the present invention, when vehicle information is received, details of the received information are recognized to check whether a diagnosis result indicating the presence of trouble is contained. If the presence of trouble is indicated, various kinds of data are acquired to estimate a trouble location and decide service procedures. If the presence of trouble is not indicated, all kinds of information including vehicle travel information are acquired and classified to estimate the deteriorated condition and remaining life of each part and to analyze the vehicle travel condition, thereby confirming the correlation between the vehicle travel condition and the cause of a vehicle malfunction based on the analyzed result. Various kinds of information are notified to service factories and relevant departments and are recorded in a database, while each user is notified of the service timing and the analyzed result.

  • Publication number: 20020161495
Abstract: A vehicle control system has a diagnosis information of power systems mounted on a vehicle which is received and recognized to check whether the information contains a diagnosis result indicating the presence of trouble. With the presence of trouble, the trouble location is estimated from various data and service procedures are decided, whereby advance order of corresponding parts and smooth proceeding of work schedules can be realized. With the absence of trouble, all kinds of vehicle information are acquired to compute deteriorated conditions of parts and systems, to estimate deterioration characteristics and remaining spans of life, and to compute the timing of service to be made. The user is notified of the service timing and the diagnosis result, while various kinds of information are distributed to a dealer and recorded in a database. An advance notice of the check timing is given to the user before the occurrence of trouble, whereby preventive safety is improved.
