  • Patent number: 6162980
Abstract: To provide an electronic upright piano providing a key touch of an acoustic upright piano. An action load simulation member (2) provided in the electronic upright piano is composed of a wippen (15) rotating and rising when a depressed key (11) is rotated, a jack (17) rising together with the wippen (15) until a jack tail (17a) contacts a regulating button (16), a hammer butt (18) rotatably supported by a center pin (18b) for contacting or leaving the jack (17), a hammer shank (21) connected to the hammer butt (18) and provided with a hammer (23), and a hammer stopper (32) which can contact the tip of the hammer (23). The wippen (15), the jack (17) and the hammer butt (18) are rotated about separate axes, respectively. In the electronic upright piano, the let-off timing is the same as that in an acoustic upright piano.

  • Patent number: 5487321
Abstract: An apparatus for slidingly opening and closing a keyboard lid for covering a keyboard of a keyed instrument between an open position and a close is provided. The keyboard lid has a front end with a pair of opposite sides and a rear end with a pair of opposite sides. A pair of front guide projections project laterally from the opposite sides of the front end of the keyboard lid. A pair of rear guide projections project laterally from the opposite sides of the rear end of the keyboard lid. A pair of side plates are arranged on opposite sides of the keyboard. Each one of the pair of side plates has a front guide groove engaging with a respective one of the pair of front guide projections and a rear guide groove engaging with a respective one of the pair of rear guide projections. In this manner, the keyboard lid is slidably guided between an open position and a close position.

  • Patent number: 5353675
Abstract: An open-close structure of a slide lid of a keyed instrument which guides the sliding motion of the slide lid includes a pair of inside plates each being arranged at each side of a keyboard and extending into the main body of the keyed instrument. The invention includes a slide lid that is adapted to be guided through an engagement of a pair of pinion-shaped members arranged at each side of the slide lid with a pair of rack-shaped members arranged on the inside plates. Each of the inside plates has a guide path arranged near and extending along the rack-shaped member. The slide lid has a roller arranged near each pinion-shaped member which is adapted to roll on one of the guide paths and support the slide lid so that the pinion shaped members mesh with the rack-shaped members in a condition in which no weight is applied to the rack-shaped members through the pinion-shaped members.
