  • Patent number: 7182427
Abstract: A cut-processing apparatus generates tool move control data to reciprocate the tool, and sheet feed control data to feed the sheet; stores an amount of tool move loss due to backlash in the carriage gear train occurring at tool move direction shift, and an amount of sheet feed loss due to backlash in the sheet feed gear train occurring at sheet feed direction shift; and corrects the tool move control data based on the stored amount of tool move loss at tool move direction shift, and the sheet feed control data based on the stored amount of sheet feed loss at sheet feed direction shift.

  • Publication number: 20060269346
Abstract: A cutting device performs cutting processing on a sheet for separated characters by reciprocating a cutting tool forward and backward in a direction which is orthogonal to a feed direction of the sheet for separated characters while the sheet for separated characters is fed forward and backward along a sheet feed path by a sheet feed section. The cutting device includes a sheet accommodating section which accommodates the sheet for separated characters which is fed forward and backward so that the sheet can be loaded into and unloaded from the sheet accommodating section. The sheet accommodating section has a take-up drum which winds up the fed sheet for separated characters into a roll shape and a power supply section which supplies the power for rotating the take-up drum for take-up.

  • Patent number: 6386774
Abstract: A printing device including a printing mechanism adapted to print a series of letters and characters on a printing tape which is fed through the printing mechanism in a generally vertical orientation. A manually operated cutting mechanism is provided which includes a movable cutting blade configured to cut a printed section of the printing tape at a generally vertical cutting region after a printing operation. The movable cutting blade is rotatably supported in a manner positioning its axis of rotation on one side of the cutting region while the fixed cutting blade is positioned on the other side of the cutting region. The movable cutting blade initially contacts the vertically oriented printing tape from a lower face of the blade during cutting of the printing tape, and moves generally in the direction toward the one side of the cutting region. An operation button provided on a top face of the printing device is configured to move substantially linearly toward a bottom of the printing device.

  • Patent number: 6126344
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel structure of a tape cartridge accommodating a printing tape and an ink ribbon used for printing, which prevents the printing tape from being stuck in a cartridge case or the ink ribbon from being slackened. The tape cartridge of the invention has a mechanism for preventing an end of the tape from being reversely moved back into the cartridge case. A typical structure of the mechanism includes an anti-inversion system which prevents a tape core having a tape wound thereon from rotating in a reverse direction, that is, a direction opposite to a normal rotating direction for printing. The anti-inversion effects are removed when the tape cartridge is set in a printing device such as a tape writer to ensure smooth feeding of the tape for printing. When the tape is forcibly pressed back into the cartridge case, a movable platen clamps the tape between the platen and a fixed wall to prevent reverse movement of the tape.

  • Patent number: 6116129
Abstract: A tape end trimming apparatus for appropriately cutting and shaping the ends of plural tapes of different widths without wasting the tape and without requiring replacement of the cutting blade is provided. The tape end trimming apparatus comprises cutting for trimming the corners of the end member of a tape. A guide member comprises tape insertion path for guiding an inserted tape to the cutting apparatus. An end position regulator regulates the insertion position of the tape end. The cutting apparatus comprises cutting blade for cutting the end corners at the sides of tape with the position of one side thereof regulated by one tape side position regulator and the position of the end thereof regulated by end position regulator, and the position of the other side thereof regulated by the other tape side position regulator and the position of the end thereof regulated by end position regulator.

  • Patent number: 4260224
Abstract: In a multi-layer liquid crystal display panel the terminals for making connection to the electrodes on the plates of each cell layer are so disposed that the terminals for each cell are out of registry with the terminals for all of the other cells. The terminals are connected to external circuitry by way of conductive elastomer blocks, the compressibility of the blocks being such that substantially identical blocks can be used for making contact with the terminals on all of the plates.
