  • Patent number: 5891694
Abstract: This invention provides a method for recovering nucleic acids and a device for the same purpose, which method and device are capable of continuously recovering nucleic acids by enabling the recovery of nucleic acids in one simple operation. This nucleic acid recovering device comprises: a container to which a solution containing micro-organisms is supplied; electrodes which are made of a hollow fiber membrane coated with a conductive metal and which send electricity to the solution; a pulse oscillator which sends pulse waves to the electrodes; and a micropump which draws up the solution within the hollow fiber membrane coated with metal.

  • Patent number: 5510195
Abstract: A porous hollow fiber membrane is dipped into either a high concentration alkali solution or a high concentration solution of chromic acid and sulfuric acid, etched and then dipped into a palladium ion solution. The membrane is then dipped into a solution containing reducing and complexing agents as well as metallic ions, and subjected to an electroless treatment. In this way, a porous hollow fiber membrane, to which a metallic layer is chemically bonded, can be obtained. The porous hollow fiber membrane is provided in which the bond strength between the membrane and the metallic layer and the amount of metal to be coated are increased. Because of a large amount of metal, it is possible to render the membrane sufficiently electrically conductive.

  • Patent number: 4538697
Abstract: A vibration-absorbing system for an automotive vehicle with a vehicle body, includes an automotive vehicle accessory and a mounting device. The mounting device has a resiliency. The mounting device attaches the accessory to the vehicle body so that the accessory will be resiliently supported on the vehicle body. The accessory with the mounting device is able to be vibrated and has an eigenfrequency in relation to the vibration thereof. The eigenfrequency is set to a relatively low value.
