    Abstract: There is provided with an encoded digital audio reproducing apparatus including: a reading control portion which reads an encoded audio file having a data part including audio data as a sequence of frames and a size part including size information on each of the frames; a table generating portion which generates a table holding positional information on frames at intervals of a predetermined number of frames in the sequence of frames; a decoding portion which sequentially decodes the audio data from a leading frame to output the decoded audio data; a reproducing portion which reproduces the decoded audio data; and a reproduction start position calculating portion which, in the case where a reproduction request from an arbitrary frame in the audio data is inputted, decides from the table a frame satisfying a positional reference for the arbitrary frame as a reproduction start frame.

    Abstract: In a vertical aligned LCD the other substrate has further protrusion parts e.g. parallel to the gate buses or source buses, in addition to the protrusion parts parallel to slits of pixel electrodes. By the further protrusion, when a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal layer, it becomes easy to align axes of liquid crystal molecules in one direction, so that transmittivity of light which travels through liquid crystal panel becomes high.

    Abstract: An object of the invention is to improve a transmittance of a liquid crystal medium. A multi-domain type vertically aligned LCD device comprises: vertically aligned liquid crystal medium and substrates sandwiching it; pixel electrode 1A formed on one of the substrates; and bus line 5 located near the pixel electrode 1A and applying a signal to the pixel electrode, wherein a region of the liquid crystal medium corresponding to the pixel electrode 1A is separated by slit patterns formed in the pixel electrode 1A so that the separated regions cause control-direction for orientation of the liquid crystal medium to be differed. The slit patterns comprise straight line slit patterns 2n1, 2n2, 2m1, 2m2 oriented at a predetermined angle. Each of the straight line slit patterns has at least one bridge 3n1, 3n2, 3m1, 3m2 connecting between part areas of the pixel electrode, separated by the slit pattern.
