  • Patent number: 6742818
Abstract: A lock for a lid that opens and closes a box. The lock includes a latch. The latch engages a catch to prevent the lid from opening when the lid is closed. A crank moves between a locking position and an unlocking position. The crank engages the latch at the locking position and is disengaged from the latch at the unlocking position. A handle is used to open the lid from an outer side of the box. The handle moves the crank from the locking position to the unlocking position. A lever is used to open the lid from an inner side the box. The lever moves the holding member from the locking position to the unlocking position. A key-operated mechanism shifts the crank between an operational position, at which the handle works, and a non-operational position, at which the handle cannot work.

  • Patent number: 6051406
Abstract: A polypeptide of keratan sulfate 6-sulfotransferase having the following physicochemical properties:1 action: a sulfate group is transferred from a sulfate group donor to the hydroxyl group at C-6 position of galactose residue of keratan sulfate;2 substrate specificity: a sulfate group is not substantially transferred to chondroitin, chondroitin sulfate A, chondroitin sulfate C, dermatan sulfate and CDSNS-heparin;3 optimum pH: 6.2 to 6.54 activation: an activity is increased by Mn.sup.2+ or Ca.sup.2+ ;5 Km value for 3'-phosphoadenosine 5'-phosphosulfate: about 2.times.10.sup.-7 M; anda DNA coding for the polypeptide.

  • Patent number: 5910581
Abstract: A polypeptide of glycosaminoglycan sulfotransferase originating from human and having the following physical and chemical properties:(i) action: sulfate group is transferred from a sulfate group donor to N-acetylgalactosamine residue or galactose residue of glycosaminoglycan;(ii) substrate specificity: sulfate group is transferred to the hydroxyl group position at C-6 of N-acetylgalactosamine residue of chondroitin; and sulfate group is transferred to the hydroxyl group position at C-6 of galactose residue of keratan sulfate; and(iii) molecular weight: about from 50,000 to 55,000 Da.

  • Patent number: 5827713
Abstract: Chondrotin 6-sulfotransferase (C6ST), for transferring sulfate group to the hydroxyl group at C-6 position of N-acetylgalactosamine residue or galactose residue of glycosaminoglycan, was purified from a culture liquid of chick embryo chondrocytes to determine its partial amino acid sequences. Partial cDNA of C6ST was amplified from poly(A).sub.+ prepared from the chondrocytes, by means of PCR by using oligonucleotide primers prepared on the basis of the determined sequences. Entire length cDNA of C6ST was obtained from a cDNA library by means of hybridization by using an obtained cDNA fragment as a probe.

  • Patent number: 4579244
Abstract: A fuel tank cap is provided having airtight engagement with the oiling port of a fuel tank. The cap is locked to the oiling port by a key cylinder. Removal of the cap from the oiling port is accomplished by initial rotation of the key cylinder to enable communication between the interior of the fuel tank and the ambient atmosphere through a passage which is adjacent to and substantially parallel with the key cylinder and further rotation of the key cylinder to disengage the cap from the oiling port.

  • Patent number: 4358023
Abstract: A capping assembly for use in a fuel storage tank provided for a motor vehicle and the like includes a diaphragm positioned inside the assembly so as to divide an internal space into two spaces. One space communicates with the inside of the tank and is separated from the other space which communicates with the outside of the tank. The assembly further includes a valve arrangement, comprising a needle valve and a valve seat, which cooperates with the diaphragm so that the two spaces can be selectively communicated with each other in response to a relative change of pressure inside the tank with respect to a predetermined pressure.
