  • Patent number: 9377977
Abstract: A feature of the recording device is used to shorten the length of time that a wireless communication link with a recording device is not established for a control device that communicates wirelessly with a recording device when a wireless communication link can be established. A communication control unit 15b of a host computer 10 detects and reports to a recording control unit 15a that printer 11 power was turned off. After receiving this report that the printer 11 power is off from the communication control unit 15b, the recording control unit 15a requests the communication control unit 15b to establish a wireless communication link with the printer 11 and open a virtual COM port during the period until a new wireless communication link with the printer 11 is established.

  • Patent number: 7587586
Abstract: A communication setup program eliminates the need for setting communication data common to multiple applications individually for each application. The communication setup program configures communication data that is reflected by the applications when each application is loaded, and provides a device selection module for selecting a target communication device from among one or more devices setup on the computer; a related application extraction module for extracting related applications that support the selected device from among a plurality of applications installed on the computer; a communication data setup module for configuring the communication data used by related applications to communicate with the selected device; and a communication data ID output module for providing a communication data ID for referencing the configured communication data to the extracted applications.

  • Publication number: 20080148185
Abstract: An item editing device, an item editing method, and a program enable batch changing attribute information for a plurality of items that are laid out in the layout area without producing a result that is visually discordant to the user. The label editing unit 27 has an oriented item determination unit 41, a batch changing unit 42, an item layout unit 43, and a item data storage unit 44, and enables batch changing attribute information for a plurality of items that are laid out in the layout area without producing a result that is visually discordant to the user regardless of the angle of rotation or type of the item. The user can therefore batch change a plurality of items without visually discordant results.

  • Publication number: 20060055950
Abstract: Storing image data that is printed at the end of a receipt in a printer is made easier by a printing control apparatus that acquires a distance equal to the length of the transportation path of roll paper between the printing position and paper cutting position of a connected printer, and generates image data by adding non-printing data composed of non-printing dots corresponding to this length to the end of the main print data. This image data is then sent to and stored in the printer.
