  • Patent number: 6629262
Abstract: A command from a host computer is held in a command holding section, and commands set in a register are referenced to determine whether or not the held command involves data transfer. If the command involves data transfer, a switching signal output section outputs switching identifying signals SX and SY to a command switching section. Thus, the command involves data transfer, control is provided by a hardware configuration without using a CPU. Alternatively, when the command involves no data transfer, the switching signal output section outputs an interrupt to the CPU. The CPU interprets the command held in the command holding section to output the switching identifying signals SX and SY to the command switching section.

  • Patent number: 6495189
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing a fat and oil composition comprising the steps of melting a fat and oil, or emulsion comprising fat and oil, and crystallizing the above-mentioned fat and oil by cooling to produce a fat and oil composition in paste form or plastic form. The molten fat and oil, or emulsion comprising fat and oil, is pressurized under force at a pressure of 10 to 150 MPa during the above-mentioned crystallization in the production of fat and oil compositions such as fat and oil processed foods, etc. As a result the crystallization speed of the fat and oil is markedly increased and post-crystallization can be prevented. Thus, improvement in quality of the fat and oil processed food and improved efficiency of the production process in terms of time and energy is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5640006
Abstract: A multi-axis light beam type sensor with a simple fail-safe sensor system which stops when the sensor system is abnormal (logic value "0") is provided. The construction is such that scanning output signals for synchronously driving respective light emitting elements (LD) and light receiving elements (PD) positioned facing each other are generated using shift registers. A normal or abnormal condition of the scanning output signals is judged based on an output of the light transmission side shift register (5), using an addition operation in a scanning output signal checking circuit (9). Moreover, coincidence or non coincidence of last stage outputs of the respective shift registers of the light transmission and light reception sides, is determined by a coincidence detecting circuit (10).

  • Patent number: 5508697
Abstract: The present invention relates to an airplane detection system to surely detect an airplane moving along a runway or a taxiway. The system employs a wheel detection sensor for providing a wheel detected output when emitted electromagnetic waves are blocked by the wheels of the airplane and a fuselage detection sensor for providing a fuselage detected output when receiving the reflection of the emitted electromagnetic waves from the fuselage of the airplane. According to the output signals from both the sensors, the system detects the airplane.

  • Patent number: 5495228
Abstract: A fail-safe scan circuit sequentially and periodically drives and scans objective devices. The scan circuit has a failure detector that provides, upon detecting a failure, a signal of logical value 0 to inform of the failure. Adjacent input signals to the failure detector have a phase difference of .pi.. This phase difference results in simplifying the structure of the failure detector. The fail-safe scan circuit is employable to drive and scan many photosensors of a fail-safe multibeam sensor.

  • Patent number: 5442303
Abstract: A fail-safe logic circuit employs a transformer (T) and a level tester (1). The transformer receives input signals each representing a binary logic variable and provides the sum of magnetic flux based on the input signals. The level tester tests the level of the sum of the magnetic flux and provides a binary output (y) representing a logic value of 1 or 0. This circuit is simple and capable of lowering an output level.

  • Patent number: 5182574
Abstract: A thermal head for a thermal-transfer or heat-sensitive printer has a silicon substrate having a projection. A porous silicon layer having a small thermal conductivity is formed on the silicon substrate so as to cover at least the projection on the silicon substrate. A heat-generating resistor layer is formed on the porous silicon oxide layer in a region above the projection of the silicon substrate. A conductor layer is formed on the heat-generating layer so as to expose the portion of the heat-generating resistor layer which is right above the projection of the silicon substrate and which serves as a heat-generating portion. The heat-generating portion and the conductor layer are covered by a protective layer.

  • Patent number: 5105124
Abstract: A detecting device can centrally monitor and detect a lamp failure of one or more lamps connected in series such as guide lamps in the runway of an airfield. A core (12) is disposed on a power line (P.sub.1) of each lamp (L.sub.1 -L.sub.n). The power line (P.sub.1) is wound on the core (12) as a first winding (N.sub.1). A second winding (N.sub.2) for extracting the power of the power line (P.sub.1) is wound on the core (12). An oscillator (13) is provided which uses the output voltage of the second winding (N.sub.2) as the power supply to generate a frequency corresponding to each lamp (L.sub.1 -L.sub.n). The output signal from this oscillator (13) is fed back to the power line (P.sub.1) through a third winding (N.sub.3). Accordingly, a signal consisting of a frequency which represents each lamp flows through the lamp circuit and any failed lamp or lamps can be detected by checking this feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 4795921
Abstract: In an "AND" logic operation-oscillation circuit in which an oscillating output is produced when a signal of a voltage higher than the voltage of a circuit power source is applied a diffused resistor is used for a resistor to which a voltage lower than the circuit power source is applied and a non-diffused resistor is used for a resistor to which a voltage higher than the voltage of the circuit power source is applied, whereby there is constructed a fail-safe circuit in which a short circuit trouble is not caused even if an input signal of a level higher than the voltage of the circuit power source is applied and a phenomenon that an oscillating output is produced even in the absence of an input signal is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4786916
Abstract: A thermal head in which a glazed layer, an improved undercoat layer, a heat generating resistor layer, an electrical power supply conductor layer and a protection layer are successively laminated to the surface of an insulating substrate, in which the undercoat layer is composed of an aluminum nitride (AlN) film. The method of manufacturing the thermal head comprises forming the aluminum nitride (AlN) film by sputtering an Al target in a gas mixture of argon and nitrogen and forming the heat generating resistor layer and the electrical power supply conductor layer, that is, three layers in total successively formed by sputtering. Because of the good heat conductivity of aluminum nitride film, the temperature distribution in the heat generating portion is made uniform and localized heat generation can be avoided, as it also prevents the destruction of the heat generating resistor layer or the protection layer due to the temperature difference upon heat generation.
