  • Patent number: 4616907
Abstract: A zoom mechanism particularly for a compact zoom binocular, comprises right and left ring gears which respectively surround right and left light beams passing through right and left eye lenses of the binoculars. The eye lenses are pivotally connected to each other about a machine shaft for adjusting the width between light beams and adjustment elements are provided for adjusting the magnification of the eye lenses. Right and left intermediate gears are respectively engaged with the right and left ring gears and disposed between the ring gears. The intermediate gears are connected to the magnification elements for adjusting magnification and for rotating the ring gears. An engagement assembly is provided between the intermediate gears which is either in the form of a central gear or a belt and pulley combination so that rotation of one intermediate gear is transmitted to the other intermediate gear. The engagement assembly is concentric with the machine shaft axis.

  • Patent number: 4464656
Abstract: An analog waveform is sampled and converted into a digital form corresponding to the number of picture elements in the direction of main scanning of a raster scanning type display unit. The digital value thus obtained is stored in a memory which has the same number of addresses as the above-mentioned number picture elements. All memory locations are sequentially read out, for each main scan of the display unit. The data A.sub.1 contained in each location is compared to the number of the current scanning line B.sub.1 of the display unit. When the data read out, A.sub.1, equals the number, B.sub.1, a video signal is applied to the display unit, resulting in a bright spot being displayed on the display surface of the display unit. When a waveform video signal is formed, corresponding to the states of A=B or A>B, the area under the waveform is displayed by dots.

  • Patent number: 4396257
Abstract: An improvement in zoom binoculars is disclosed which utilizes a small gear rotated by a larger drive gear connected to a pivotally mounted lever for transmitting rotation to one of two intermediate gears which are meshed to each other through free central gear. Each intermediate gear is meshed with a tube gear connected to a tube lens. Each intermediate gear with its meshed tube gear is rotatably mounted on one of a pair of binocular body portions which are pivotally mounted to each other. The pivotally mounted body portions can be pivoted with respect to each other to change the spacing between lens tubes. Due to the small size of the small gear, such pivoting of the body portions produces only a small differential rotation between the two intermediate gears, and thus a small differential and magnification throughout the entire range of magnification for the zoom binoculars.

  • Patent number: 4365665
Abstract: The invention involves to improvements in heat sink. Required numbers of corrugated fins and separator sheets are alternately stacked together with side bars applied to the opposite edges of each corrugated fin, and all the parts are brazed together.Large thickness side bars are used for either one side or both sides, and the edges of the separator sheets and outer sides of the side bars are aligned, and a heat source is mounted on the outer surfaces of side bars. In this way, a heat sink of a desired sides can be assemble, and also the heat radiator performance can be improved.

  • Patent number: 4359455
Abstract: A test composition for evaluating dental caries activity, which comprise a specific amount of a saccharide (e.g. sucrose, glucose and fructose) and a pH indicator (e.g. resazurin, lacmoid, methyl red and alizarin) in water or an aqueous alcohol solution, said composition being regulated to a pH range of 6.5 to 7.0 with an alkali (e.g. sodium hydroxide) and an acid (e.g. acetic acid, tartaric acid or lactic acid). By using this test composition, a test for evaluation dental caries activity can be done within a very short period of time (e.g. about 30 minutes) by any person without requesting any specific training.
