  • Patent number: 7372992
Abstract: An image data processing machine implementing image processing of image data input with different resolution values in consideration of resolution and qualities of image outputs. A digital reproduction apparatus incorporating the image data processing machine retrieves correction data stored in advance on an objective pixel by a memory block according to pattern code information generated by a pattern recognition mechanism as an address and renders the correction data to be multi-valued.

  • Patent number: 6870639
Abstract: An image data processing apparatus and method in which a FIFO memory replicates identical image data in a bit-map formation based on a timing signal, and a pattern recognizing section recognizes characteristics of a line shape of a boundary between a black-dot region and a white-dot region of the image data. In addition, a determining device determines whether or not a relevant dot is one to be corrected is determined, and a dot correction section performs correction on the dot. Also included is a replication number setting unit which sets any number of times the FIFO memory repeatedly outputs the replicated image data to a window by replicating the identical image data.

  • Patent number: 6850340
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing original image data that is bit mapped in a main-scanning direction X and a sub-scanning direction Y first multiplies linearly aligned dots in the main-scanning direction X of the original bit mapped image data by a positive integer Dy to generate Dy lines of linearly aligned dots adjoining each other in the sub-scanning direction Y as a first group of the subscanning direction Y. Other functions include second multiplying following linearly aligned dots in the main-scanning direction X of the original bit mapped image data by a positive integer Ry to generate Ry lines of linearly aligned dots adjoining each other in the sub-scanning direction Y as a second group of the sub-scanning direction Y, and multiplying further following linearly aligned dots in the main-scanning direction X of the original bit mapped image data by repeating the above first and second multiplying steps.

  • Patent number: 5666213
Abstract: A bit-map unit forms a bit map using given image data. A boundary recognizing unit recognizes characteristics of a boundary present between first type of pixels and second type of pixels constituting the bit map. A determining unit determines for each pixel whether correction is necessary so as to make the image produced from the given image data significantly finer, the determination using at least part of the boundary characteristics. A correction unit performs a correction on the image data for the pixel, the correction of which pixel has been determined to be necessary, the correction being performed in a manner determined depending on the relevant boundary characteristics. A data replicating unit replicates the given image data to be used in the correction to be performed by the correction unit. A timing producing unit produces timing in which the data replicating unit performs the replicating operation.

A data replicating unit replicates the given image data to produce copies of the image data in addition to an original of the given image data, the correction unit performing the correction in different manners between the original and copies of the given image data.
