  • Publication number: 20030128967
Abstract: A data recording and reproducing apparatus capable of easily obtaining information which has few dropout and is necessary for variable speed reproduction at the time of variable speed reproduction. An image group dividing unit divides input image data into a plurality of image groups on a unit image basis, thereby forming plural divided data. After the formed divided data is temporarily stored into an image data temporary storing unit, the divided data is outputted as image data which is a data stream of the divided data in a predetermined image unit to a disk array apparatus via an HDD output interface unit. Each disk array apparatus records the divided data into HDDs so as to periodically change the relation between the HDDs and the groups of data to be recorded to the HDDs in a predetermined pattern.

  • Patent number: 6507697
Abstract: This invention relates to a data recording and reproduction apparatus, and a method and a system for sending out data for preparing a log file of material codes and a sending time. The video server comprises a storage means utilizing a randomly accessible storage media, and a server controller for controlling the storage means and multiple input and output ports connected to the storage means. The input port includes a multiplexer for inserting the material code to identify video source onto compressed video signals derived from video signals fed to the input ports. Video signals with their material codes superimposed thereon are recorded as video sources on the storage means. A material code is extracted from any video signal that is reproduced, and a log file of the sending data (sending time and data including material code relating to the sent-out material) is generated.

  • Patent number: 6453117
Abstract: An image from a camera is to be recorded and reversion is to be made to an image of an optional scene to reproduce an image of such scene. To this end, a CPU 20 converts image signals at a rate of 90 frames per second from a camera device 10 into parallel signals to output image signals of the usual rate of 30 frames per second. A video server 30 records the image signals from the CCU 20 on a RAID 32. If a pre-set scene is to be reproduced, the image signals are read out from the RAID 32 in the order of the original image signals to output the read-out image signals to outside.

  • Patent number: 6411770
Abstract: The endless recording which enables partial saving of recording contents and facilitates editing or management is to be achieved. To this end, if recording has been made for a pre-set time, such as one hour, a new region is secured to continue the recording, at the same time as a region carrying the oldest recorded contents is sequentially evacuated in an amount equal to the newly secured region. The partial saving region (00:10:00:00 to 00:20:00:00) is not to be evacuated.

  • Publication number: 20020049696
Abstract: In a data recording and reproducing apparatus (10), according to a release instruction from a server controller (30) added to a PLAY_OPEN command for requesting preparation of reproduction of arbitrary data, management information is changed so that an area occupied by reproduced data of the data in the on-producing file becomes an area where new data can be recorded anytime while the file is reproduced. As a result, for example, in the case where plural data are recorded, before the reproduction of the on-reproducing file is completed, the data recording area occupied by the reproduced data is changed into an area where new data can be recorded by efficiently utilizing recording areas in a data accumulation section (13) if on-producing file exists.

  • Patent number: 6360058
Abstract: A video signal recording and/or reproducing apparatus records a digital video signal of baseband into multiple RAIDs distributively. If one RAID fails to read out data of a pixel, it is substituted by data “00”. The video signals from all RAIDs are formed into a serial video signal. If the data “00” is detected in the serial video signal, it is given a proper value based on the interpolation process using data of the neighboring pixels, so that a high-fidelity picture is reproduced continuously from the video signal.

  • Patent number: 6349349
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for storing and transmitting AV data. A receiving buffer unit for storing AV data temporarily, a transmitting buffer unit for storing temporarily the AV data to be transmitted, and a primary storage unit for storing AV data and a secondary storage units for storing AV data are connected to each other by means of a subnetwork. A server control unit for controlling the respective units is connected to the subnetwork. Since these units are connected by means of the subnetwork, any restriction is not given to spaces for installing the units. The capacities of the primary and secondary storage units and the transmitting buffer unit are selected so that they become larger in order of the secondary storage unit, the primary storage unit and the transmitting buffer unit. Thereby, the storage units and the transmitting buffer unit are controlled in a hierarchical form.

  • Publication number: 20010055470
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image recording and reproducing apparatus and an image recording and reproducing method in which, in an AV server using a so-called G-Shuttle system, the processing required in the high-speed playback mode can be simplified and which can prevent an image from being disturbed due to digital errors caused in the normal playback mode. Specifically, while a corresponding relationship between image groups A to D which result from dividing image data of each image unit by a plurality of image groups and groups W to Z of first memory means is being cyclically changed at every image unit, the image groups A to D are recorded by the first memory means and error-correcting codes of the image groups A to D are generated at every image unit and recorded by a second memory means 22.
