    Abstract: A transmission device is connected to other transmission devices in a system configured in a ring topology. The transmission device stores, in a memory, port information items identifying a plurality of output ports connected in the ring topology, in association with each of destination information items, where the plurality of output ports form a redundant configuration and are each configured to transfer a communication signal. The transmission device detects switching information in the system which indicates the port information items related to a change in paths of the ring topology, and, with reference to the memory, executes flooding on output ports associated with the port information items, indicated by the switching information, of the redundant configuration connected in the ring topology.
