  • Publication number: 20150212570
Abstract: In the related art, even in computation of an application which has a resistance to a computation error in a computer system, since the computation error is accurately corrected, there is a problem that a power supply voltage or an operating frequency for realizing lower power or a faster speed cannot be variable in a large manner. In the invention, it is possible to solve the above-described problem by a computer system which includes a first processor and a second processor. In the first processor, at least one of an operating frequency or an operating voltage is variable. A detecting module which is operated by the second processor detects an error of the first processor. A determining module which is operated by the second processor determines at least one of the operating frequency or the operating voltage of the first processor.

  • Patent number: 9043804
Abstract: There is provided a parallel computer system for performing barrier synchronization using a master node and a plurality of worker nodes based on the time to allow for an adaptive setting of the synchronization time. When a task process in a certain worker node has not been completed by a worker determination time, the particular worker node performs a communication to indicate that the process has not been completed, to a master node. When the communication has been received by a master determination time, the master node performs a communication to indicate that the process time is extended by a correction process time, in order to adjust and extend the synchronization time. In this way, it is possible to reduce the synchronization overhead associated with the execution of an application with a relatively large variation in the process time from a synchronization point to the next synchronization point.

  • Publication number: 20120263240
Abstract: Disclosed is a video encoding and decoding device which encodes images and compresses the information volume in accordance to the standard H.264. In the device, image folding determination processing is performed utilizing the symmetry of an input image, and a block of one area of the input image is set to be a folding area. By setting folding points describing the folding area, only information for the folding area and the folding points is encoded. After decoding, the entire image is restored from the folding area, which was the encoded area, but in areas that cannot be directly restored from the folding area, the image is restored by performing padding from peripheral blocks. By this means, the symmetry of an image is utilized to increase encoding efficiency without degrading image quality.

  • Patent number: 8210470
Abstract: In a moving apparatus, flapping angle of a front wing shaft is ?+??/2, and the flapping angle of rear wing shaft is ????/2. Specifically, amplitude difference between front wing shaft and rear wing shaft is ??. Further, the flapping motion of front wing shaft is represented by sin (?+?/2), and the flapping motion of rear wing shaft is represented by sin (???/2). In other words, phase difference between the front and rear wing shafts is ?. Further, amplitude difference ?? and phase difference ? are each represented by a function using a common parameter. Therefore, a control portion can independently change the amplitude difference ?? and phase difference ?, so as to variously change a torsion angle formed by a tip end portion of the wing and a prescribed phantom plane. Thus, a moving apparatus that can make an efficient transition from hovering to forward or backward flight can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20110110424
Abstract: A video encoder for evaluating a prediction error by using a prediction technique include: an image encoding section which encodes a prediction image; and an encoding control device which selects any one of a plurality of prediction modes in prediction used by the image encoding section. The image encoding section performs clipping of higher-order bits of the prediction error input to the encoding control device and reduction of lower-order bits thereof for each of the prediction modes to control prediction mode selection, thus reducing the prediction error bit width to a predetermined bit width. The encoding control device sets to the image encoding section the number of higher-order bits to be clipped and the number of lower-order bits to be reduced. The predetermined bit width of the prediction error after bit width reduction is matched with the bus width used for prediction error transmission by the encoding control device and the image encoding section.

  • Publication number: 20100135381
Abstract: The present invention relates to a video transmission system that uses an encoding/decoding technique. An object of the present invention is to refrain from using a memory for storing decoded image data, avoid a decoder input buffer problem (buffer overflow or underflow) with ease, achieve cost reduction, and provide enhanced image quality. In the video transmission system with an encoding/decoding device, a reference signal for adjusting a synchronization schedule of the entire system is generated and supplied to various sections. In addition, a timing adjustment amount for adjusting the synchronization schedule for the reference signal is generated by a decoder and supplied to a camera.
