  • Publication number: 20080246396
Abstract: An EL element includes a light-emitting layer (1), a color filter layer (4a-4c, 5a-5c), and a surface substrate (9). The color filter layer (4a-4c, 5a-5c) and the surface substrate (9) are located on the light extraction side. The color filter layer (4a-4c, 5a-5c) is present between transparent electrodes (3) formed on the the light-emitting layer and the surface substrate (9), and includes light-emitting portions of three primary colors and light shielding layers (6) formed between each of the light-emitting portions. The sides of the light shielding layers (6) or the light-emitting portions are covered with a metal reflective layer (7). This allows diffused light to be reflected back to each of the light-emitting portions, so that light can be extracted efficiently on the screen side. The metal reflective layer is connected electrically to the transparent electrodes and can reduce the electrical resistance value of the transparent electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20060284542
Abstract: When the thickness of the panel at an X axis end of the useful portion is expressed by Tx (mm), the thickness thereof at a Y axis end is expressed by Ty (mm), the thickness thereof at the center is expressed by Tc (mm) and an outer dimension of the panel along the diagonal axis direction is expressed by D (mm), 0.8?(100×Tc/D)2×(Tx/Ty)?2.2 and 0.012?Tc/D?0.019 are satisfied. Accordingly, the stress generated in a short side and that generated in a long side in a sealing portion in an exhausting process are substantially equalized. As a result, cracking of the panel can be reduced in the exhausting process even when the panel is made thinner. Therefore, it is possible to provide a cathode ray tube that is easy to manufacture and has a lighter and less expensive panel.

  • Patent number: 6825601
Abstract: A color cathode-ray tube includes a shadow mask (20) stretched and held with tension applied thereto in one direction. The shadow mask is made of an Invar material. A stress generated in the shadow mask by the tension is 32 MPa or more in a range of ±20 mm with respect to a center position of the shadow mask in a direction orthogonal to a direction in which the tension is applied, and is 26 MPa or more outside the range. By stretching the shadow mask under this stress condition, magnetic shield characteristics are enhanced, and mislanding of an electron beam can be reduced. As a result, a satisfactory color image display can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6768253
Abstract: An internal magnetic shield includes a pair of opposing long side walls (1), a pair of opposing short side walls (2), and an opening (3) enclosed by these side walls in the center. The short side walls (2) are provided with notches (4) having a substantially home-plate shape. This configuration can reduce mislanding of an electron beam on the entire screen and easily balance the amount of mislanding due to geomagnetism in the tube-axis direction and in the horizontal direction perpendicular to the tube axis. As a result, a cathode ray tube capable of displaying images without displacement and unevenness of colors can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20040041513
Abstract: An internal magnetic shield is joined to a color selection electrode structure including a color selection electrode, a pair of longer side frames supporting the color selection electrode with tension being applied and a pair of shorter side frames joined to the pair of longer side frames. Magnetic shielding members inclined at an inclination angle &thgr; (&thgr;≠0°) to a tube axis are provided on lateral surfaces of shorter sides of the internal magnetic shield. Phosphor screen side edges of the magnetic shielding members are located between the color selection electrode and a plane that passes through color selection electrode side ends of the pair of shorter side frames and is perpendicular to the tube axis. In this manner, magnetic shielding characteristics can be improved against not only a transverse magnetic field but a tube axis magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 5866976
Abstract: An electron gun is provided, in which a capacitance between a cathode and other electrodes, especially a control electrode is reduced largely without substantially changing a structure for supporting the cathode with an insulator. The cathode of this electron gun is disposed inside of the cylindrical metal shell. The cathode and the cylindrical metal shell are connected by three metal tabs. The cylindrical metal shell fits into a hole formed in the center portion of the insulator, and a metal outer frame is attached to the periphery of the insulator. The metal outer frame is welded to the inner surface of a cathode metal support. There is a control electrode facing the electron emitting surface of the cathode at a predetermined distance. Plural electrodes including an accelerating electrode are disposed in turn beyond the control electrode.
