  • Publication number: 20030164608
Abstract: An automotive steering system is constructed such that a movable bracket is attached to a stationary bracket via a connecting mechanism to move back and forth in an axial direction of a steering shaft, that a steering column is attached to the movable bracket and that the steering shaft is rotatably attached to the steering column. The positions of the steering shaft and a steering wheel are adjustable in the axial direction. The connecting mechanism comprises a pair of flat pin guide surfaces extending in the axial direction and a connecting pin adapted to be inserted between the pair of pin guide surfaces. The pair of pin guide surfaces are provided at a transverse center of the movable bracket, whereas the connecting pin is provided on the stationary bracket. The connecting pin is guided by the pair of pin guide surfaces to relatively move in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 5733481
Abstract: There is disclosed a composition for use in the formation of an active light waveguide comprising a fluorinated polyamic acid and an electro-optical material. The active light waveguide is manufactured by subjecting the fluorinated polyamic acid to imide ring closure into a fluorinated polyimide, and orienting the electro-optical material. The active light waveguide fabricated by using the composition for use in the formation of the active light waveguide can provide excellent electro-optical effect. The active light waveguide is extremely thermally stable and suitable to manufacture of electro-optical devices.

  • Patent number: 5579046
Abstract: A one-piece type video camera comprises a device for taking the image of a subject, a device for collecting the voice and a device for magnetically recording the image and voice, all of which are built in the camera as one piece. The voice collecting device includes a microphone for collecting the voice incoming from the subject and another microphone for collecting the operator's voice. The operator's voice is subtracted from the voice incoming from the subject such that only the latter will be recorded. The operator's voice is utilized in the voice recognition technique so as to control the entire system of the video camera. In a preferred embodiment, the microphones are directional microphones.
