Patent number: 10179507Abstract: Provided is a vehicle in which overdischarge of a battery is protected and turning drivability of the vehicle is improved when there is even a little remaining capacity. An ECU controls the left motive force and the right motive force of the left electric motor and the right electric motor so as not to exceed a differential torque upper limit value, which is the maximum value of the difference between the left motive force and the right motive force established on the basis of the temperature or discharge limit power of the battery. When the battery is at a low temperature or the like and the discharge power is limited, the difference between the left motive force and the right motive force is controlled on the basis of the discharge limit power, whereby the turnability of the vehicle is improved while preventing the risk of damage to the battery.Type: GrantFiled: December 25, 2014Date of Patent: January 15, 2019Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Yoshito Terayama, Masaki Negoro, Tomokazu Honda, Akiyoshi Kobayashi, Shintaro Yoshimi, Yoshifumi Nakamura

Patent number: 9376006Abstract: Provided is a vehicle provided with left and right electric motors electrically connected to a battery and mechanically connected respectively to left and right vehicle wheels, a power generator mechanically connected to an internal combustion engine being electrically connected to the battery, wherein the battery is reliably protected during traction control and at other such times. Two electric motors, specifically first and second electric motors, are temporarily handled integrally to determine a torque down amount (TD), which is the total allowable power variation width (?) of the two electric motors, on the basis of left and right total power (Y), and the respective motive powers of the first and second electric motors are controlled while being limited by values obtained by simply dividing the determined torque down amount (TD) equally, whereby the allowable input/output power (allowable input power (Z)) of the battery is reliably protected.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2014Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Yoshito Terayama, Yoshinori Ando, Toshinori Tsukamoto, Masaki Negoro, Yoshikazu Fujimoto, Masatoshi Noguchi, Yusuke Sakaguchi

Patent number: 9123247Abstract: A surrounding area monitoring apparatus for vehicle includes an infrared camera mounted on a vehicle for capturing images of surrounding area around the vehicle, a unit for generating and displaying images based on image data captured by the camera, and a controller for calibrating output of the camera with respect to a relation between pixels, based on image data produced by imaging a surface of a shutter that opens and closes an aperture introducing a light to the camera, The controller estimates whether a temperature of the camera is stable, based on an operation state of the vehicle, and determines a possibility that a driver is looking at the unit, based on a behavior of the vehicle. When the temperature of the camera is estimated stable and the possibility that the driver is looking at the unit is determined to be low, the means for calibrating executes the calibration.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2011Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaki Negoro, Yuji Yokochi, Naoto Akutsu, Morimichi Nishigaki, Kenichi Sawada, Fuminori Taniguchi, Nobuhiko Fujii
